We are a team of 100+ people, representing 15+ nationalities, with offices in Colombia, Kenya, Morocco, Mauritius and the USA. Our team of practitioners has extensive development and government experience, including previous roles in international development banks, management consulting, national governments, multilateral agencies, INGOs and academia.

How you will make an impact

As an Operations Officer, you will play an instrumental role in the Bogotá office to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness. You will also work with Instiglio’s Global operations, people and finance teams, each based in Kenya and Morocco. Your role is unique in that it involves working across teams, supporting Finance, Office Administration, and Compliance.

Your role will often require managing processes and structures, sometimes developing them from scratch. Your creativity, innovation, structured and strategic thinking will help foster a rewarding work environment that furthers our mission. The position will be best filled by someone who works well independently, has a knack for operational excellence, has strong data analysis skills, and is comfortable in fast-paced environments.

This position offers a career path to growth and development within the organisation. The key responsibilities of the Operations Officer will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the Finance & Operations Director in the design, implementation and improvement of administrative processes.
  • Support the Operations team in monitoring and ensuring adherence to compliance with country-specific regulations, local and global audits.
  • Assist the Finance & Operations Director on any special initiatives (e.g. preparing operational plan, reporting to the Board and the Partner group).
  • Organizing payments of events/travel (planning, liaising, negotiating, logistics, procurement).
  • Support research and manage logistics for offices as required with the support of local administrative assistants.
  • Support Operations team in maintaining compliance with country specific regulations, local audits and global audit.
  • Support in the immigration processes for staff.
  • IT: maintaining inventories of company devices such as providing assistance with the creation of Microsoft accounts, and serving as the main contact for our system providers.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or related areas.
  • Experience: Experience 3-5 years in business administration, finance, accounting, or related fields. Experience in a multinational setting (corporate, consulting or international development) is preferred.
  • Knowledge and specific experience: Operations within corporate services including operational planning, organizational reporting, project management, and organizational communication.
  • Knowledge in software: Advanced skills in all Microsoft Office/ Google Suite applications (PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
  • Skills:
    • Teamwork skills with the ability to work autonomously.
    • Strong execution and process management with impeccable attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
    • Strong structured thinking and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work comfortably and communicate effectively in a multinational, culturally diverse, and virtual environment.
    • Ability to manage competing, high-priority demands in a fast-paced environment.
    • Willingness to learn and grow.
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English (C1).
    • Exceptional organizational skills, creativity and strategic thinking are nice to have.

The successful candidate will be based in Bogotá, Colombia with a strong preference for Colombian residents. In addition, Instiglio offers generous benefits, which include a flexible hybrid working model (team members going to the office two times a week for face-to-face connection opportunities), personal days, remote work days, and a company holiday in addition to vacation, among others. Instiglio does not offer a fully remote working arrangement.
