Co-create and execute the visual design of our SEL curriculum by blending design expertise and storytelling to make complex concepts pedagogically sound, contextual, engaging, scalable, and easy to implement for teachers while impactful for students.
Role Expectations
*All the below-mentioned tasks would be key to your role. The following requirements are not mentioned in order of priority.
Apply design expertise and strategic thinking to shape curriculum storylines, ensuring content is engaging, coherent, and easy to execute.
Contribute to character design, and visual narratives that make SEL relatable for children
Translate SEL concepts, sessions and lesson plans into age-appropriate, culturally relevant, and visually compelling learning experiences.
Adapt curriculum and visuals for diverse geographies and socio-cultural contexts, ensuring accessibility and relevance.
Use insights from on-ground experiences and user feedback to continuously refine and improve curriculum design and delivery
Create high-quality visual assets such as digital toolkits, templates, animations/animated characters, icons, illustrations, infographics, and presentation decks using tools like Canva, Figma, Adobe Suite, or Procreate.
Support website design, uploads, and updates to keep curriculum content current and aligned with organizational priorities.
Develop teaching and learning materials tailored to different grade levels and organizational needs.
Collaborate with state teams and partners (government, nonprofit, and multilateral) to support effective program implementation.
Build internal team capacity on digital and design tools to enhance curriculum creation and delivery.
Support colleagues on integrating design principles into content development.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's/Master's in Education, Social Science, Design, Communication, or a related field.
Experience
1-2 years of experience in visual design, curriculum/content design.
Prior experience in branding, UI/UX design, character design, storytelling in education, or website design is a strong plus.
Prior experience of working with children or youth, training teachers is highly preferable.
Characteristics
Strong skills in Canva, Figma, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate or similar tools.
An understanding or inclination to understand Social Emotional Learning, mental health, psycho-social development psychology will be preferred
Fluent in both Hindi & English (written and spoken)
Proficiency in Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slide, etc
Willingness to learn and grow together with the team.
A self-starter and detail-oriented person who acts with urgency and can find effective solutions to complex challenges.
Comfortable with frequent travel and being on-ground to support Labhyas programs and research.
Open to experimentation, learning, and collaboration in a fast-moving, purpose-driven environment.
