Role Expectations
*All the below-mentioned tasks would be key to your role. The following requirements are not mentioned in order of priority.
- Data Architecture & Systems Design: Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable data pipelines across programs and government data sources, ensuring high data quality, reliability, and traceability from inputs to student and teacher outcomes.
- Establish standards for data validation, version control, privacy, and ethical use,, while enabling data workflows that are easy to replicate and scale across states.
- Enable Data-Driven Insights and Automation: Build and maintain secure, scalable data infrastructure, including data warehouses and pipelines using tools such as BigQuery or equivalent platforms, to ensure high-quality, reliable, and traceable data across programs and states.
- Develop automated data workflows, live dashboards, and KPIs to enable real-time performance tracking, decision-making, and impact measurement.
- Establish standards for data quality, privacy, and ethical use, while improving systems through automation and adoption of emerging data technologies and open-source tools.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with program, M&E, and operations teams to translate real-world challenges into measurable data constructs, ensuring data pipelines capture meaningful, actionable insights linked to learning and behavioral outcomes.
- Build organizational data capacity by training teams on data literacy, visualization, and tool usage, and strengthening the M&E teams ability to manage and process complex datasets end to end.
Educational Qualification
Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science/ Engineering Data Science, or a related field.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related fields, preferably within social impact, education, or public sector domains.
- Proven expertise & experience in SQL, Python or R, and data workflow management tools.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and associated data services.
- Strong understanding & of data modeling, data warehouse design, and APIs for data integration.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Metabase, Power BI, Tableau, Superset) and dashboard deployment.

- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Forms).
- Fluent in English with strong writing and communication skills for sharing learnings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interest in Social Emotional Learning (SEL), mental health, and psychosocial development.
- A self-starter who acts with urgency and can find effective solutions to complex challenges.
- Detail-oriented, curious, and excited by working with large datasets to derive meaningful insights.
