Lead pilot studies, design data tools, oversee data collection and analysis, and build capacity across teams to use insights for decision-making to set up and strengthen monitoring, research, and evaluation systems across our programs.

Role Expectations

*All the below-mentioned tasks would be key to your role. The following requirements are not mentioned in order of priority.

  • Set up program monitoring systems for programs across Labhya geographies and support the RMEL lead to establish monitoring processes.

  • Design and lead pilots, research and evaluation studies for measuring program impact.

  • Support in designing and contextualising rigorous test instruments for effective data collection.

  • Build the capacity of the other teams to interpret and use data to drive decision-making at program level.

  • Design detailed training modules & lead training of enumerators for on-ground data collection.

  • Oversee periodic data collection and lead the creation of data dashboards and cyclic reports for data-driven decision-making.

  • Oversee the analysis and create visualisations of qualitative and quantitative data to support decision-making for programs.

  • Lead the preparation of monitoring and evaluation reports to disseminate findings and learnings.

  • Contribute to the evolution of MEL strategy and frameworks to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

  • Conduct extensive research and review on existing literature and best practices related to SEL and Education, to inform program design and implementation.

  • Coach a young team of associates. Mentor a young and dynamic field team to drive impact at scale.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Education, Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the education, research, or development sector, with demonstrated success in managing research projects and evaluating programs.

  • Prior experience with outcome-based evaluations is a strong plus.

  • Prior experience working with children or youth is highly preferable.

Characteristics

  • Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, including quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methodologies.

  • Proficiency in tools such as Kobo Toolbox, SurveyCTO, and advanced Excel; familiarity with data analysis and visualization platforms like PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker is a plus.

  • Foundational knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts.

  • Ability to distill learnings from program data and contribute to thought leadership.

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Forms).

  • Fluent in English and Hindi (written and spoken); knowledge of Bengali or Gujarati is a plus.

  • Strong interest in Social Emotional Learning (SEL), mental health, and psychosocial development.

  • A self-starter who acts with urgency and can find effective solutions to complex challenges.

  • Detail-oriented, curious, and excited by working with large datasets to derive meaningful insights.

  • Comfortable with frequent travel and being on-ground to support Labhya's programs and research.

  • Open to experimentation, learning, and collaboration in a fast-moving, purpose-driven environment.

  • Deeply committed to integrity, transparency, and trust in both process and relationships.
