Tripura, Fluency in English & Bengali
Support and strengthen Labhya's partnership with the Government of Tripura by leading state-level and district-level communications by regular field visits, capturing on-ground stories, enabling government amplification, and ensuring consistent, high-quality documentation of impact and implementation.
Role Expectations
*All the below-mentioned tasks would be key to your role. The following requirements are not mentioned in order of priority.
- Develop creative, engaging content and manage content across various Government digital platforms, including Facebook and YouTube.
- Act as the primary on-ground communication representative of Labhya at the district, block, and school levels, representing the organisation with credibility, sensitivity, and professionalism.
- Systematically document program implementation and impact through photographs, videos, observations, and written narratives from schools and communities.
- Strengthen state-level PR efforts by identifying, building, and maintaining relationships with relevant media agencies, firms, and organisations, and by drafting clear, government-aligned press notes for publication.
- Work closely with the communications and operations team to support state-wide implementation, coordination, school immersion and communication needs.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen trusted working relationships with government officials across districts in Tripura, supporting smooth coordination and long-term partnership building.
- Ensure ethical, child-safe, and government-compliant documentation practices, including consent collection, data privacy, and respectful storytelling.
- Maintain trackers for field content collection, creation, approvals, storage and uploads.
- Draft high-quality, contextual communication material or official social media handles, reports, presentations, and public events.
- This is a high field-engagement role involving intensive, statewide travel across Tripura.
- Support state-specific communication needs, including inputs for government presentations, review meetings, official reports, public events, and state social media handles.
- Facilitate or support teacher training sessions as required, contributing to capacity building while also documenting learnings and reflections.
- Uphold Labhya's values of trust, integrity, transparency, and accountability in all public, government, and community-facing interactions.
- Support field supervisors/officers in basic documentation practices and ensure timely sharing of content from districts.
Educational Qualification
Bachelors or Masters degree in Education, Design Education, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Experience
- 1-2 years+ of experience in full-time professional experience in some communication-related field (prior nonprofit or startup experience is preferred)
- Proficiency in developing creative, engaging content and managing content across various digital platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
Proficiency in Canva, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides.
Experience in teacher training programs and facilitation is good to have.
- Prior experience of working with school officials or government officials is highly preferred.
- Excellent writing and translation skills, with a strong command of Bengali and English.
- Strong communication and articulation skills in English and Bengali to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage relationships with external stakeholders, including donors, media, and partners.
Attention to detail and process orientation.
- Decent sense and understanding of core principles of design (design, aesthetic, color theory including but not limited to).
- Fluent in both English and Bengali (Reading, Writing and speaking) (non-negotiable)
- An understanding of Social Emotional Learning, mental health, psycho-social development psychology will be preferred.
- Comfortable with logistical event planning.
Possesses strong relationship building, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects/ tasks and experience in handling processes end-to-end.
Ability to solve problems using particular lenses, best practices, and frameworks.

Characteristics
- Comfortable using Canva, Microsoft Office and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Forms).
Fluent in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Bengali is mandatory.
- Strong interest in Social Emotional Learning (SEL), mental health, psychosocial development and working with children.
- A self-starter who acts with urgency and can find effective solutions to complex challenges.
Comfortable with frequent travel and being on-ground to support the program.
- Open to experimentation, learning, and collaboration in a fast-moving, purpose-driven environment.
- Deeply committed to integrity, transparency, and trust in both process and relationships.
