Job description
Title: Optometrist/Ophthalmic Clinical Officer
Location: Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania
Start date: 19th March 2025
The Optometrist, Ophthalmic Clinical Officer or Ophthalmologist will be part of our team in Dar es Salaam and conduct vision tests on our clients within our Lapaire optical shops. He/She will work closely with the Sales Representatives and report directly to the Branch Manager.
His/her job will be composed of 2 main tasks:
Conduct vision tests with potential clients
- Conduct comprehensive vision tests for potential clients.
- Master digital tools and subjective refraction techniques to assess vision accurately.
- Identify potential vision issues and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Clearly explain the benefits of eyeglasses based on the diagnosed vision problem.
- Actively promote and sell Lapaire’s brand, products, and services to clients.
Verify deliveries and after-sales services
- Ensure lens deliveries align with customer orders.
- Conduct reviews of the clients who return for after-sales services
Candidate profile
- Graduated or anticipating graduation with a degree or diploma in Optometry, Ophthalmic Clinical Training or Ophthalmology.
- Previous professional experience as an optometrist or refractionist is highly appreciated.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role (employment, internship or clinical rotation) is required to be considered for this role.
- Possessing sales & marketing skills would be an advantage.
- The candidate should be comfortable using new technologies, mobile apps and software on phone & computer.
