The Role
At Last Mile Health (LMH), we work to deploy a health worker within reach of everyone, everywhere.
The Senior Coordinator, CHP Operations is responsible for the operational implementation of LMH projects in the county by efficiently managing fleet and transportation, administration, IT, and LMH facilities to meet programmatic objectives. Core to his/her responsibility is planning, managing, and supervising the assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of fleet vehicles.
The Senior Coordinator, CHP Operations is also responsible for the enforcement of operational policies at the county whilst ensuring that the operational needs of the Program team at the county are met. In addition to that, the Senior Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate data collection, analytics, and reporting insights and trends to ensure Operational improvement and effective decision-making at the Senior leadership level. He/she is also responsible for the replenishment, distribution, recording, and reporting of fuel and spare parts at the county level.
This position is based in Grand Bassa County, Liberia, and is only open to candidates who are Liberian nationals currently located in Liberia.
What You'll Do
Vehicles and Fleet Management:
- Track and evaluate the mechanical and maintenance needs of the LMH Fleet at the county level in consultation with the mechanics. Inspect all procured spare parts along with the Mechanic and the warehouse responsible.
- Ensure that the LMH fleet is operating in accordance with legislation and regulations and take preventive measures to ensure the safety of vehicles and drivers.
- Track driver behavior (using GPS tracker), vehicle use, request for vehicles, fuel consumption, vehicle requests and movement, vehicle insurance and registrations and ensure log books are adequately completed.
- Maintain inventory of fuel supplies and dispense to LMH field staff and CHT staff (when approved) for use in motorbikes, vehicles or generators.
- Supervise the mechanics and drivers to ensure consistent maintenance of vehicles and motorbikes, including proactive servicing, washing, equipping with safety equipment, and proper usage.
- Ensure transport policy and safety procedures are followed for every movement and timely report any incident. Support all in-county and between-county staff transport by ensuring coordination with colleagues, partners, and transport contractors as necessary.
- Complete the fuel dashboard and maintenance tracker and timely submit them to the Fleet Manager every month for stock replenishment.
- In partnership with the CHT, track usage and functionality and investigate only when there is a need to conduct major repairs on the CHSS motorbikes.
Facilities and General Operations Management
- Work closely with the Monrovia Procurement team to obtain required operational commodities for the efficient management and delivery of the County Program objectives,with particular attention to cost control, quality and timely delivery.
- Work with the Monrovia procurement team to coordinate the catering services, hall rental, accommodations, and transport for training and other events at the county.
- Supervise and work with the County IT Assistant to monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks/internet services at the Last Mile Health office.
- Ensure that all LMH facilities are efficiently run and maintained and coordinate the replenishment of cleaning materials to ensure that facilities are always clean.
- Conduct operational data analytics and ensure timely and periodic reporting of relevant operational activities to help with effective decision-making.
- Track and monitor operational trends, insights, and challenges to ensure good decision-making and inform operational improvement initiatives.
- Provide support and thought partnership in the development of County objectives and budgets during Annual Planning and ensure compliance to all Operational Policies by the County team.
- Support Safety and Security activities and personnel to ensure the Safety and Security of Staff, visitors, and LMH assets and facilities.
Leadership and People Management
- Manage the performance of the supervisees.
- Conduct regular check-ins with supervisees.
- Lead huddles and other ad hoc and regular meetings.
- Track and monitor compliance to all Operational and Organizational compliance.
- Identify, elevate and address capacity building needs of the team with support of the Director of operation and the CHP Implementation Manager.
- Perform any other tasks requested by your Line manager.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations, Business administration, or a similar field
- Proven years of experience working in operations.

- Capacity to work both independently and with close supervision.
- Advanced literacy, numeracy, computer, and forecasting skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of challenges with working in rural, underserved, and low-income contexts.
- Experience with Safety & Security.

The salary range for this role is $20,453 - $28,635 USD, dependent upon experience doing an equivalent role. Please note that the compensation is subject to statutory taxes.
