The Role
At Last Mile Health (LMH), we work to deploy a health worker within reach of everyone, everywhere.
As the County Program Manager, Community Health Program reporting to the Medical Director, you will partner with the County Health team to drive forward the quality implementation of Liberia's National Community Health Assistant program and relevant innovations within Grand Bassa OR Rivercess County. The Program Manager, CHP, will serve as a member of our senior management team and is an essential team member in ensuring we are meeting the organization's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

This position is based in Buchanan, Grand Bassa, Liberia, and is only open to candidates who are Liberian nationals currently located in Liberia.

What You'll Do
  • Serves as the most senior team member in the county office and oversees the planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of the Community Health Program and relevant innovation in Grand Bassa.
  • Lead all aspects of the project management life cycle, including the design and initiation, planning, implementation, monitoring, and closing of the Community Health Program, managing issues, staff, and supplies/logistics, and ensuring internal controls.
  • Lead in implementing all Last Mile Health national and county interventions in the county, making sure they are successful by Reviewing and approving/endorsing all LMH activities in the county.
  • Ensure the project remains in scope, on budget, and on time by utilizing project management tools, including, but not limited to, a work plan, risk mitigation plan issue log, and stakeholder matrix.
  • Track and report on achievement against key performance indicators related to implementing the community health program and addressing gaps.
  • Provide supportive supervision and mentorship to the service delivery team to ensure all project deliverables are met on time.
  • Serve as the lead liaison with the relevant County Health Team as it relates to the implementation of the National Community Health Assistant program and ensures that LMH strategy, communications, and insights are seamlessly shared with the CHT and vice versa.
  • Coordinate extensively with and maintain strong working relationships with the County Health Team, County Health Board, local CSOs, and other international NGOs operating in the county.
  • Ensures that ALL LMH policies are clearly communicated and strictly adhered to by team members, especially Safety and security, People Operations, Finance, and Operations Policies.
  • Ensures People Operations, Finance, and Operations systems and tools in-county are in place and are adequate to support programmatic needs.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field with extensive years of experience
  • Strong project and budget management skills, including experience developing work plans, budgets, and M&E plans.
  • Extensive leadership and people management experience
  • A track record of building productive and long-lasting relationships with external partners, such as governments and clinical institutions
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
You’ll Impress Us If
  • You have implemented monitoring and evaluation models to assess program effectiveness.
  • Prior experience managing operating budgets; donor reports-writing.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing quality improvement projects
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Strong leadership skills include leading by example, motivating, inspiring, encouraging, communicating vision, empowering, recognizing achievements, listening, resolving conflicts, and building trust.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with remote communities
  • Strong skills in working in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Master’s degree in a health-related field with progressive years of experience

Compensation for this position:
The Band for this position: LBR- 3
The salary range for this role is $20,862 - $44,043, dependent upon experience doing an equivalent role. Please note that the compensation is subject to statutory taxes.
