Clear Credential: $79,500/year - $90,100/year
Preliminary Credential: $68,900/year
Intern Credential: $66,144/year

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
This Position serves as a Literacy Specialist Teacher for the READ 180 Program for grades 9-12th and creates a flexible program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth in accordance with each student's ability. Instructs students in activities designed to promote literacy and reading growth needed for school success by performing the following duties.

A. Instruction
- Develop and use instructional materials suitable for verbal and/or visual instruction of students with wide range of reading and writing skill levels.
- Provides individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students
- Teaches to the objective and uses a variety of techniques and materials.
- Focus and prepare students for instruction
- Provide for all students to be actively involved in a lesson
- Monitor student responses and adjusts instruction accordingly
- Use reinforcement to influence positive behavior
- Provide guidance and independent practice
- Apply appropriate closure in a lesson presentation
- Maintain, administer and utilize tests as an instructional tool
- Evaluate students work and communicate progress
- Use principles of learning, which promote memory and recall
- Use technology (computers and software) to enhance Program instruction
B. Instructional Process
- Write & implement approved long-range plans, which incorporate course curricular objectives
- Prepare daily lesson plans which incorporates the grade level equivalents and standards
- Implement plans to address the needs of individual students and/or small groups of students
C. Organization and Management
- Organize the classroom for efficient use of instructional time
- Organize information for logical presentations
- Keeps student records/folders current and available for teacher, student or parent reference
- Confer with teachers and administrators concerning programs and materials to meet student needs
D. The Classroom Climate
- Create a physical environment conducive to learning
- Create an emotional atmosphere conducive to learning
- Maintain classroom control
- Promote development of self-control in students and positive independence
- Maintain consistent regular student enrollment (minimum of 4 students per hour)
E. OTHER DUTIES
- Participate in staff trainings and meetings
- Attend graduation ceremonies
- Adhere to attendance policies
- Administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time
