How You Will Make an Impact:

The Community Partnership Manager is responsible for implementing Community Partnership strategies, working closely with the school administrators, Community Liaisons, key faculty, and community partners to facilitate the development of an integrated community partnership strategy. The Community Partnership Manager coordinates and oversees programs with the External Affairs Team that bring together partners, ethnic leaders, community collaboratives, and the Street Team Program to assist the schools in building stronger community partnerships. This position reports to the Chief External Affairs Officer or designee.

  • Design, develop and coordinate programs and projects as identified by the Chief External Affairs Officer including identifying strategic partnership opportunities.
  • Coordinate activities with Community Liaisons and Community Service Providers in alignment with schools’ outreach to the communities where schools are located. Support community outreach programs at schools in coordination with Community Liaisons and site leadership.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage, coordinate, supervise, coach and direct the hiring, training, timely performance development of team members, oversee their daily activities and oversee the daily workflow of the department.
  • Identify, cultivate, and maintain partnerships with community organizations, nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, educational institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of community needs and priorities to inform partnership strategies and program development.
  • Collaborate with partners to design and implement initiatives, programs, and events that address community needs and align with organizational objectives.
  • Work with partners to leverage resources, including funding, volunteers, in-kind contributions, and expertise, to support community initiatives and projects.
  • Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and forums to network, build relationships, and promote collaboration opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and its community partners, ensuring clear and effective communication to facilitate collaboration and coordination.
  • Monitor the progress and impact of community initiatives and partnerships, collecting data and feedback to assess effectiveness and inform decision-making.
  • Advocate for community needs and priorities within the organization and advocate for the organization within the community, building support and awareness.
  • Provide support, resources, and training to community partners to strengthen their capacity to address local needs and achieve shared goals.
  • Perform administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned. These may be changed or modified from time to time.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local programs and/or working with schools in school improvement.
  • Knowledge of research-based strategies that support parent, family and community engagement.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate events that foster family and community participation.
  • Ability to maintain documentation to provide evidence of parental engagement activities at the assigned school.
  • Ability to negotiate and mediate to attain win-win situations.
  • Ability to use creativity in addressing needs and challenges.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Administration, Social Work or related field or 2 years equivalent work experience in one or more major student/family support areas, e.g. academic support, mental health, afterschool, youth development, family support or leadership development.
  • 3 years of experience in coordination and/or management/administration in an educational, non-profit and/or human services setting, to include experience in community organizing, school-based service delivery and knowledge of community-based organizations.
  • Must have a high degree of cultural awareness and competency in cross-cultural practice with children and families.
  • Experience developing and managing program budgets.
  • Experience with data collection, use of data, presenting data and evaluation of programs.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules that includes evenings and some weekends.
  • Ability to travel in performance of job duties is required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing up to 10 pounds of force.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mental Demands: high workflow management, high project coordination, high people engagement.
  • Finger Dexterity: using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
