Full Time, Monday – Friday; 8am-5pm.

This position has a hybrid/remote work arrangement with 1-2 in office day per week in the office in Lancaster, CA.

How You Will Make an Impact:

The People Services Coordinator - Employee Relations support the implementation and administration of policies, procedures and programs that promotes a positive relation between employees and the organization. This position is the lead support to the department leadership on timely workplace investigation, timely resolution, and proper documentation of employee and employer relations issues. This position reports to the People Services Manager Employee Relations or designee.

  • Participates in employee relations related issues, which may include employee disciplinary action, conflict or grievance resolution, involuntary terminations
  • Support the human resource activities and ensures programs are administered fairly across the employee population
  • Intake, triage, and assist with employee complaints and manager recommendations
  • Participates in investigation into employee/employer misconduct
  • Liaison between employee and management
  • Maintain investigation notes and prepare investigation reports
  • Assists in the development of training programs that promote positive employee/manager relations, effective performance management, employee engagement and reduce turnover
  • Run reports from case management system to analyze data, identify trends, and provide metrics
  • Collaborate with leadership on status or findings of employee relations cases
  • Advise employees on human resources topics and organizational policies, or procedures
  • Ensure all documents related to cases are uploaded in case management system
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of employee relations cases in information systems or databases
  • Conducts or moderate employee surveys, focus groups, or exit interviews.
  • Establish and maintain positive Interpersonal relationships and advance Organization culture and values both internally and externally
  • Assist People Services Leadership with responding to DFEH, EEOC, DOL, and other legal claims
  • Coordinate employee-related aspects of involuntary terminations such as termination for cause and other Change in Employment Relationship actions
  • Keep current on Human Resources trends and legislation
  • Perform human resources activities
  • Administrative duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time

Qualifications

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

  • Knowledge of State and Federal employment law
  • Knowledge of human behavior principles and performance
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for human resources policies, procedures, and guidelines in handling employee relations
  • Strong understanding of the Organizations culture, business units, services, and products
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolutions skills and use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Strong documentation, records management, effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with various levels of employees
  • Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations
  • Strong autonomy, reliable, responsible, dependable, and focused on excellent customer service
  • Exercise confidentiality of client, company, and employee information

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED; Associate Degree is preferred
  • 3-4 years of human resources related experience including interacting with employees, explaining human resources services, organizational policies and procedures
  • Experience working in a large Organization with 1000+ employees
  • Proficient in Human Resources Information and databases
  • Proficient skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to travel in performance of job duties is required
  • Prolong periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to exert up to 10 lbs. of force (almost all office jobs) at times
