How You Will Make an Impact
The Community Liaison (CL) will support the program objectives, including supporting collaborative relationships with community organizations, businesses, and individuals to engage students to strengthen job skills and participate in job shadowing and/or internships. The Community Liaison will also support students enrolling, completing community college courses, and meeting the program requirements for high school graduation. This position will also establish and support the growth of collaborative relationships with community organizations, businesses, and individuals to engage students and increase public awareness of the organization’s educational solutions and programs favorably. This position reports to the Principal or designee.

- Interface with communities and openly represent the organization among the public, including public officials, businesses, and other agencies.
- Establish and maintain a regional network of relationships with community organizations, businesses, and individuals to promote the Organization’s educational solutions and engage students.
- Collaborates with school leadership to assess school needs and assets, identify gaps, goals, and initiatives, and engage with community partners to provide resources, such as coordinating trauma-informed health, mental health, and social services.
- Coordinates and implements outreach to parents of students and family members; this includes home visits, home-school collaboration, and culturally responsive community partnerships.
- Support educators and school administrators in planning, developing, and implementing career pathways, programs, and community school engagement.
- Visitations to community partners and businesses to support students and placements for job shadowing, internships, and work-based learning.
- Recruit, coordinate, and manage parent and community involvement in programs, grants, advisory committees, school events, and support coordination of community activities; this may include academic support, real-world learning opportunities through the establishment of MOUs for internship, project-based learning, before and after school care, and summer programs.
- Initiate work-based learning opportunities such as guest speakers, job shadowing, workplace tours, and service projects.
- Collect data and assist in the completion of reports for the GSPP annual review and other reports as needed.
- Facilitate and maintain a program of career preparation and internships for students.
- Maintain professional memberships and attend conferences and events to keep current with state standards and regulations in Career Technical Education (CTE).
- Serve as a local expert on Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act governance structure, youth service providers, and programs.
- Utilize established tools and guidelines to engage and enroll students.
- Distribute information and demonstrate tact and diplomacy in representing the organization.
- Maintain documentation and report on progress related to community and student outreach activities.
- Utilize established reporting mechanisms and provide written reports to management.
- Collaborate with other departments and divisions to meet objectives.
- Assist in planning and implementation of events.
- Perform administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities that may be assigned or changed from time to time.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage, coordinate, supervise, coach, and direct the hiring, training, timely performance evaluations of team members, oversee their daily activities and oversee the daily workflow of the department.
