How You Will Make a Impact

The Assessment Specialist plans and coordinates standardized and diagnostic assessment for the Organization schools and provides testing administration guidelines, best practices and data to principals, teachers, management, and field personnel. They will provide testing support to the field as needed and as assigned. They are responsible for ensuring testing security and legal compliance. They are responsible for ensuring that all testing tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner throughout the project life cycle.

  • Oversee the field coordination of all state assessments (i.e. ELPAC, Smarter Balanced, etc.) as well as internal diagnostic assessments.
  • Coordinate and present testing data in usable, visually pleasing formats as needed.
  • Act as a mentor/consultant for test site coordinators.
  • Delivers training for Testing Administrations.
  • Distributes and collects Testing Materials for all state tests.
  • Ensures resolution of testing issues.
  • Work with the English Language and Accountability departments as needed supporting with, but not limited to tasks such as language acquisition anomalies.
  • Composes and types correspondence (i.e. letters, memos, reports, manuscripts) for company personnel as needed.
  • Maintains and updates all files and testing materials.
  • Ensures security of all testing materials at all times.
  • Assists with other functions and duties as assigned.
  • Travel to various centers as needed.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATION, ETC.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Flexibility and a strong commitment to getting the job done, especially in the face of deadlines in the busy testing seasons.
  • Strong organizational and proofreading skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow-up on task commitments and give updates as needed.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining courtesy and professionalism.
  • Ability to up lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to drive Class C vehicle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Valid CA Teacher Credential or 30-day permit preferred
  • Previous experience in an administrative capacity preferred
  • Valid CA drivers license
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

TRAVEL: Ability to travel in performance of job duties is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mental Demands: High workflow management, high project coordination.
  • Finger Dexterity: using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
  • Talking: especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Average Hearing: able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
  • Average Visual Abilities: ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery.
  • Physical Strength: sedentary work. Sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally (almost all office jobs).
  • Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work required.
  • Working in a noisy, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures.
