How You Will Make an Impact

The Distribution Center Manager will control and account for all inventory movement while managing all aspects related to the warehouse distribution facility. This Position plans and organizes work flow to ensure requests or inquiries are processed in a manner which will ensure accurate and timely handling of materials. This Position creates and maintains an environment which supports our company culture with an emphasis on Safety, Quality, Teamwork, and Productivity through employee engagement.

  • Manage the maintenance inventory area, inventory organization and racking, inventory cycle counting and reporting, and inventory accounting
  • Manage distribution and receiving functions to ensure they are handled within established protocols and procedures
  • Monitor inventory controls and follow up to resolve discrepancies
  • Identify and implement work procedures
  • Plan the day's work load and direct your team in accomplishing those goals
  • Evaluate and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers and processes
  • Prepare work schedules and expedite workflow for shipping/receiving functions
  • Issue written and oral instructions
  • Examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures
  • Ensure that employees are in compliance with all safety rules
  • Supervise the preparation of paperwork for accounting
  • Collaborate with the Education and Finance (accounting) Department staff on order fulfillment
  • Train on inventory programs/procedures to appropriate personnel
  • Adhere to customary Distribution Center operating hours
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Department on hiring personnel needs
  • Administrative duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, coordinate, supervise, coach, and direct the hiring, training, or performance evaluations of team members and oversee their daily activities

Qualifications

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

  • Forklift training and applicable certification for operation
  • Organization, planning, and coordination skills
  • Reading, writing, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple competing demands
  • Ability to make clear, direct and concise decisions based on data/fact driven information
  • Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and or situations
  • Ability to work well with people at all levels both in and out of the warehouse distribution center

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of High School diploma or General Education Diploma. College degree preferred
  • 2 years experience in Distribution Center or warehouse facility operations
  • Management/Leadership experience
  • Experience in materials procurement and accounting process
  • Proficient in inventory tracking software
  • Intermediate or Advance, or Expert skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

TRAVEL: Ability to travel in performance of job duties is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Wear Protective Equipment gear while performing specific duties
  • Utilize proper lifting and bending techniques
  • Mental Demands: high workflow management, high project coordination
  • Finger Dexterity: using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together
  • Talking: especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly
  • Average Hearing: able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
  • Average Visual Abilities: ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery
  • Physical Strength: sedentary work. Sitting most of the time, and occasionally exerts up to 10 lbs. of force (almost all office jobs)
  • Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work required
  • Working in a noisy, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures
