Job Description

Job Title: Senior Officer - Educational Content Writer & Instructional Designer

Location: Pune

Travel: As per the project need
Position Overview:

To convert curriculum, technical knowledge and field experience into clear, engaging and practical learning experiences and educational resources.

The role combines strong educational writing with instructional-design thinking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret national and state curricula and translate them into clear learning outcomes.
  • Design learning sequences linking experience, facilitation, reflection, application and assessment.
  • Develop teacher guides, student materials, training resources, worksheets, activities, cases and digital/video content.
  • Design hands-on activities that are practical within real school settings.
  • Develop formative assessments, observation criteria, rubrics and evidence-of-learning tasks.
  • Write clear facilitation guidance for teachers who may not be technical experts in every vocation.
  • Work with subject and sector experts to simplify technical concepts without losing accuracy.
  • Convert experienced practitioners' and field teams' knowledge into explicit, usable resources.
  • Develop multilingual- and localisation-ready source content that can be adapted across states.
  • Prepare clear briefs for illustrators and other production specialists.
  • Participate in field testing and revise content based on teacher and learner feedback.
  • Use digital and AI-enabled tools appropriately, with human review for pedagogy, accuracy and language.
  • LAHI's central learning principle requires resources to connect expected learning, practical experience, evidence of learning and reflection rather than merely describing activities.

Requirements

Minimum Experience:

  • Experience in educational writing, instructional design, curriculum or learning-resource development.
  • Strong ability to convert curriculum into learning experiences—not just explanatory text.
  • Understanding of experiential/activity-based and competency-based learning.
  • Ability to design learning outcomes, activities and assessments.
  • Strong writing, simplification and editing skills.
  • Ability to work with teachers, practitioners and technical experts.
  • Experience with school education, vocational education or teacher learning would be valuable.
  • Experience in multilingual or digital learning content would be an advantage.

Educational Background:
Master’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, or a related Field
