Job Title: Manager – Teacher Training & Educator Capability
Location: Pune

Travel: As per the project need
Position Overview:

To build scalable, quality-assured and transferable teacher-development systems for school vocational education.

The role goes beyond conducting training. It will be design training architecture, build trainer capacity and support government and partners institutions to eventually operate these systems themselves.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop competency frameworks and capability pathways for teachers, Master Trainers, district trainers, mentors and other educators.
  • Design and manage large-scale, cascaded teacher-training models, including ToT and Master Trainer development.
  • Plan trainer pools, batches, geographical deployment and training scale across states and districts.
  • Establish systems for trainer selection, assessment, observation, calibration, feedback and refresher learning.
  • Ensure training includes hands-on practice, facilitation practice, reflection, assessment and school-based application.
  • Build post-training support through mentoring, teacher communities and refresher learning.
  • Work with NCERT, SCERTs, DIETs, state education departments, universities and other relevant institutions.
  • Adapt training models to different curricula, languages and state contexts.
  • Capture field experience and convert it into reusable training models, standards and resources.
  • Work with Quality Assurance teams to ensure that capability—not attendance—is the measure of successful training.
  • The underlying LAHI role specifically covers the training cascade, Master Trainers, district trainers/mentors, readiness assessment and continuing support.

Requirements

Minimum Experience:

  • Around 10+ years of experience in teacher education, adult learning or educator development.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and managing teacher training at scale.
  • Experience with ToT, Master Trainers or cascaded training systems.
  • Strong understanding of experiential, practical and competency-based learning.
  • Experience observing and supporting teacher/trainer practice.
  • Experience working with government education systems.
  • Strong facilitation, program management and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Comfortable with regular travel to schools, districts and training sites.
