Job Title: Assistant Manager (Government Partnerships)

Position Overview:
As the Assistant Manager (Government Partnerships) for Gujarat, you will support the implementation and coordination of vocational education initiatives in the state. This role will involve working closely with government departments, project teams, and ecosystem partners to ensure effective execution, monitoring, and strengthening of vocational education programs under Samagra Shiksha and related initiatives.
You will play a key role in program coordination, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and follow-through on state priorities, while supporting senior leadership in building strong government relationships and advancing LAHI's goals in skill education.
This role is ideal for someone with strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills, an understanding of education or skilling programs, and the ability to work effectively within government systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Coordination & Implementation
- Support the implementation of LAHI's vocational education projects and initiatives in Gujarat, including on-ground coordination related to the National Education Policy 2020 and National Curriculum Framework 2023 for Vocational Education.
- Assist in executing state-level plans under Samagra Shiksha and other related programs.
- Coordinate with internal teams and field staff to ensure timely and effective program delivery.
- Track progress against workplans and support problem-solving during implementation.
2. Government Liaison & Stakeholder Support
- Support engagement with state education departments and other government stakeholders for smooth implementation of vocational education initiatives.
- Assist in preparing for and participating in review meetings, consultations, and coordination forums with government departments.
- Maintain regular follow-up with key officials and stakeholders on program activities, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
- Support documentation and communication for submissions, updates, and review processes.
3. Partnership & Ecosystem Engagement
- Assist in building and maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders such as NSDC, Sector Skill Councils, Vocational Training Providers (VTPs), SCERT, State Education Boards, PSSCIVE, NCVET, and other relevant institutions.
- Coordinate with industry and ecosystem partners to support internships, exposure opportunities, and stronger school-to-work linkages.
- Help organize stakeholder meetings, workshops, consultations, and capacity-building sessions.
4.Monitoring, Reporting & Data Management
- Support the development and implementation of monitoring processes to track program progress and outcomes.
- Compile, review, and analyse program data to support reporting and decision-making.
- Work with teams to strengthen MIS usage, documentation practices, and timely reporting.
- Assist in preparing presentations, dashboards, review notes, and progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
5. Team Coordination & Capacity Building
- Support coordination with PMU members, project coordinators, instructors, and field teams to drive quality execution.
- Assist senior team members in mentoring and enabling team performance.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing, training, and adoption of best practices across teams
6. Administrative & Operational Support
- Support budget tracking, resource planning, and coordination with internal functions for effective implementation.
- Assist in drafting official notes, proposals, presentations, and other program documents.
- Ensure timely follow-up on action items, approvals, and coordination requirements across stakeholders.
Requirements
Minimum Experience:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Public Policy, Management, Education, Development Studies, or a related fied.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English; fluency in Gujarati is mandatory and working knowledge of Hindi is required.
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
1.Government engagement
2.Program implementation
3.Education, skilling, or livelihood initiatives
4.Stakeholder coordination
5Team or field-team coordination
- Strong understanding of government schemes and policy frameworks related to education, skilling, or vocational education will be preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel within and outside the state as required.
