Through its Childhood to Livelihood programme, the organization helps individuals aged 12 to 24 complete secondary education, develop life skills, and access job opportunities. Magic Bus currently works across 24 states and 75 districts in India, impacting more than 1 million young people through Community Learning Centres, schools, Livelihood Centres, and Entrepreneurship Incubation Centres. Its programmes focus on life skills, education, employability, and entrepreneurship support for youth from underserved communities. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Life Skills Educator role based in Sambalpur. The Life Skills Educator will facilitate sessions with adolescents and young people, delivering structured curricula that build life skills, confidence, and awareness related to education, employability, and personal development. The role involves planning and conducting interactive lessons, using activity-based learning methods, and adapting content to suit different learning levels and backgrounds. The educator will engage with schools, Community Learning Centres, families, and local stakeholders to encourage regular participation and support positive learning outcomes. Daily responsibilities include session preparation, documentation of attendance and progress, reporting programme outcomes, and collaborating with the wider Magic Bus team to ensure high-quality implementation.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Teaching and Training skills to facilitate engaging, learner-centered sessions.
  • Candidates should possess Lesson Planning and Education-related skills to design and deliver age-appropriate, structured learning activities.
  • Candidates should possess clear and empathetic Communication skills to interact effectively with young people, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Candidates should ideally have experience working with adolescents or youth-focused programmes, especially in community or school settings.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is preferred, along with basic computer literacy for reporting and documentation.
  • Ability to work on-site in Sambalpur, manage groups, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity and a strong commitment to youth development is essential.
