The Role

Meridia is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our Indonesia team.

In this role, you will play a key part in helping users effectively prepare and manage data for Meridia Verify®. Your work will center on developing clear, practical, and engaging tutorials and guides that enhance the user experience and strengthen data preparation quality.

As a geospatial and data analysis specialist, you will design, organize, and script data flows to ensure accurate, consistent, and efficient processing. Your analytical insight will help transform raw data into meaningful outputs that support both internal operations and client reporting.

This position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Indonesia and the Netherlands. Your contributions will directly support Meridia’s mission to promote transparency, inclusivity, and sustainability in global agri-commodity supply chains.

You will report to the Head of Customer Success & Support. Working hours for this position follow Central European Time (CET), corresponding to 12:00–20:00 WIB.

Responsibilities

The Data Analyst has the following areas of work and responsibilities:

Customer Support

  • Provide timely and effective support to users regarding data wrangling and analysis, utilising Meridia Verify® and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Help diagnose and resolve user issues related to data entry and processing, ensuring a smooth user experience in using Meridia Verify®.
  • Ensure all scripts are fully documented with comments and docstrings for reproducibility and internal use across teams.
  • Support clients with bespoke assessments and evidence-based reporting for compliance verification by implementing detailed geospatial analysis in line with the EUDR and other client commitments.

Geospatial Data Analysis

  • Conduct and automate geospatial data processing and analysis using tools such as Python and Google Earth Engine (GEE) to ensure accurate, efficient, and reproducible outputs for customer support and reporting.
  • Perform data validation, visualization, and quality control to maintain consistency and reliability across projects, while contributing to the continuous improvement of geospatial workflows and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain geospatial capabilities for customer support and project execution, ensuring alignment with department goals and supporting scalable, data-driven decision-making.

Knowledge Base Management & Documentation

  • Create and maintain technical tutorials and articles to ensure a high quality knowledge base for Meridia Verify® users.
  • Create multimedia content, including written documentation, videos, and infographics, to support user education.
  • Contribute to our data catalogues, manuals, dictionaries, glossary and broader set of terminology in a coherent way across countries, products and projects.

Experience

  • Strong command of English (written and verbal) with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and produce high-quality documentation.
  • 3+ years of experience in geospatial data handling and analysis using QGIS and Python scripting for data processing and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing data validation, cleaning, and visualization to ensure accuracy and consistency across projects.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills, particularly in handling geospatial datasets and troubleshooting data-related issues.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable, with a proactive attitude and strong sense of ownership toward tasks.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of QGIS for geospatial data handling and data preparation.
  • Proficiency in Python for geospatial data processing and analysis (e.g., using libraries such as GeoPandas, Rasterio, and Shapely).
  • Experience using Atlassian JIRA or similar customer support platforms to log issues, track resolutions, and coordinate support activities across teams.
  • Solid communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain spatial data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Familiarity with Google Earth Engine (GEE) for geospatial visualization is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Git for version control is a plus.
