We’ve joined hands with third-party payers, drug manufacturers, and healthcare providers to develop products and services that directly reduce the costs of prescription drugs for patients. In only a few years, we’ve provided low-cost, high-quality medicines to hundreds of thousands of patients across nine African countries (Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, Gabon, and Ethiopia).
Position Description
mPharma is looking for a responsible and trustworthy individual with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and exceptionally high work standards to join our Primary Care team. This role will be central to driving our primary care strategy by increasing access to healthcare to improve the health status of individuals and communities through our community pharmacies. The nurse will be primarily responsible for offering basic health screenings and counselling to clients visiting our community pharmacies to utilise our virtual doctor service, mutti Doctor.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of mutti doctor at the pharmacy level
- Own the implementation of weekly community-based screening for the assigned pharmacy and lead a small team of community nurses
- Educate individuals on test results and diagnoses, and provide general health education to improve health literacy and encourage healthy lifestyle choices.
- Ensure timely, appropriate and accurate data collection and entry
- Work collaboratively with a team to increase registration and footfall to community pharmacies by promoting the availability of healthcare services.
- Participating in pop-up clinics held at community pharmacies, providing health screenings and health education services to attendees.
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with local community organizations, clinics, and hospitals to ensure the provision of quality healthcare services.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the healthcare services provided and making recommendations for improvements.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of 1-year work experience
- Passionate about healthcare and developing better health outcomes for individuals and communities
- Good knowledge of disease conditions and their management.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Fluency in local languages, excellent written and verbal English skills
- Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to consistently and effectively produce quality work.
- Works effectively as a team member and promotes collaboration within and outside the immediate team.
Minimum Qualifications
- BSc Nursing preferred.
- Registered Nurse with Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association
- Current Practicing License.
- At least 1 year of work experience.
