WHO WE ARE

Yayasan Noora Health Indonesia collaborates closely with government partners to strengthen the country's health systems through family caregiver training.

As part of this effort, they have partnered with Noora Health to advance its mission of strengthening health systems by equipping family caregivers with the knowledge and skills to care for their loved ones. Founded in 2014, Noora Health turns hospital hallways and waiting rooms into classrooms by tapping into the most compassionate resources available for the patient’s care: their own family.

With support from governments and partners in India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Nepal, Noora Health has trained more than 35 million caregivers and patients across 12,600+ facilities using their flagship caregiver education and training curriculum, the Care Companion Program (CCP).

In a cohort of patients, the CCP reduced post-surgical cardiac complications by 71%, maternal complications by 12%, newborn complications by 16%, and newborn mortality by 18%.

Noora Health is an Audacious Project Grantee and received the Skoll Foundation Award for Social Innovation. To learn more, watch our TED Talk, Skoll feature, or read about our partnership with the World Health Organization.

This role is designed for someone early in their career who is eager to learn and grow as part of a collaborative team. The Consultant will report to the Creative Manager and work closely with content writers, designers, and other PDD team members to support the creation of visual materials.

The role emphasizes teamwork: while individual illustration skills are important, success will depend on the ability to contribute effectively to team projects, adapt to feedback, and support collective outputs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Translate ideas and content provided by the team into clear, user-friendly graphics.
  • Contribute to the creation of visual storytelling for health education campaigns.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Work under the guidance of the Creative Manager and collaborate closely with the PDD team.
  • Participate in discussions, brainstorming sessions, and feedback rounds to refine illustrations.
  • Provide design support for a range of program and communication needs.

User-Centered Approach

  • Join the team in user research and testing activities to check clarity and relevance of illustrations.
  • Revise and improve designs based on feedback from users, stakeholders, and team members.

Localization and Adaptation

  • Adapt illustrations for different cultural and linguistic contexts in Indonesia, ensuring clarity and inclusivity.
  • Basic knowledge of cultural practices in East Java, Central Java, and Yogyakarta is preferred.

Consistency and Standards

  • Follow Noora Health’s design guidelines and maintain consistency across visual materials.
  • Ensure alignment with the organization’s caregiving frameworks and communication standards.

Willingness to Travel

  • Be open to occasional travel with the team for field research, user testing, and needs assessments.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Illustration, Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or a related field (open to candidates with strong portfolios from other backgrounds)
  • 1–3 years of experience in illustration, graphic design, or visual communication. Familiarity with the health sector (MCH, NCDs) is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in digital illustration tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, Figma, etc).
  • Basic knowledge of visual storytelling and ability to present ideas simply and clearly.
  • Familiarity with collaboration and design tools (e.g., Miro, Notion) is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and apply user-centered design principles.
  • Should be a team player who is open to feedback and eager to learn.
  • Empathy for users and interest in creating inclusive, impactful visuals.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
