You can read more about our impact here.Job OverviewThe Senior Trainer is responsible for assisting to develop, conduct, and evaluate training programs organized at the Family Center. The Senior Trainer will also work directly with Early Childhood Development Trainers to facilitate their skills development and to foster a competent and knowledgeable training team that can contribute to effective training activities.Reports to: Family Skills Training Director, MongoliaLocation: Family Center in 21 khoroo, Bayanzurkh district, Ulaanbaatar, MongoliaJob responsibilities:- Assist the Program Team to develop and implement training programs that align with the organization’s strategy and country context;- Work cooperatively with the OneSky team to develop, implement and evaluate training to improve program quality;- Identify training needs and create appropriate training materials;- Work under the supervision of the Family Skills Training Director to provide professional development activities, guidance and feedback to trainers, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to excel in their roles;- Mentor and coach inexperienced trainers;- Organize and manage resources needed for training, including venues, equipment, and materials;- Conduct in-person trainings to educate parents, caregivers and staff of partner organizations on how to build secure attachments and provide quality responsive care and early learning opportunities for children aged 0-6;- Communicate clearly and effectively with parents and caregivers about age-appropriate activities for young children;- Participate in maintenance and operations of the Family Center and Playground Ger;- Participate in all professional development experiences and activities organized by OneSky Mongolia to expand skills and knowledge;- Keep up to date on current knowledge and best practices of child development and early childhood education.- Attend required staff meetings;- Work cooperatively with related staff of OneSky to provide active engagement of children and families during Community Days and other program activities;- Support the OneSky team on the program delivery of family skills training and advocate on the shared childcare responsibilities;- Other duties and responsibilities that evolve as programs change;Job Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related discipline;- At least five years of experience working with young children and parents or experience in childcare settings;- Knowledge of Mongolian Laws and regulations regarding the child protection and child welfare services;- Experience of facilitating training for adult learners and parents;- Experience mentoring other teachers and trainers;- Good knowledge of best practices for care and education of young children;- Strong oral presentation and communication skills;- Experience with the virtual classroom platform. Proficiency in using Zoom a plus;- Works collaboratively in a team environment but can also work independently;- Keen observation skills with the ability to apply insights into daily practice;- Values ongoing learning;- Respectful, compassionate and understanding of others;- Independent, open-minded, proactive, committed, team player with a positive hands-on attitude;- Proficiency in computer skills, especially MS Office. Proficiency in various computer software and hardware for general support.
