We are looking for a passionate, skilled, and creative problem solver to join the team as a Senior Brand Designer for Oportun, working to accelerating growth across our products. You will be responsible for leading the visual identity and design strategy across various touch-points. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our brand is communicated effectively, consistently, and resonates with our target audience. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong design sensibility, capable of translating business objectives into compelling visual narratives
RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Development:
- Develop and refine the overall brand identity, ensuring consistency across all channels and platforms.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and leadership teams to understand business goals and translate them into visual design strategies.
Visual Design:
- Create visually stunning and effective designs for a range of assets, including but not limited to marketing collateral, digital content, presentations, and more.
- Design and maintain brand guidelines to ensure a cohesive and recognizable brand presence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the marketing team to create compelling campaigns that align with the brand strategy.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure a seamless and consistent user experience across all products and platforms.
Leadership and Mentorship:
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and creative team environment.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to quality, innovation, and excellence in design.
Market Research:
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and design innovations to continually enhance the brand’s visual identity.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in brand design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Proficient in Figma is mandatory.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design tools.
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, to influence thinking and decision making with teams, stakeholders, and cross-functional partners
- Creative thinker with the ability to translate concepts into compelling visual designs.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
