Parenting for Lifelong Health (PLH) is looking for a motivated and socially-committed individual to serve as the fundraising-focused trustee on PLH’s trustee board. The Fundraising Trustee will provide strategic oversight and advice to enhance PLH’s fundraising and resource mobilisation efforts, ensuring financial sustainability and growth. Examples include:- Supporting the development and oversight of a fundraising strategy aligned with PLH’s mission and long-term sustainability goals.- Identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities, including grants, philanthropy, and corporate partnerships.- Supporting the board and executive team in diversifying income sources and strengthening financial resilience.- Providing guidance on ethical fundraising practices and compliance with relevant regulations.- Acting as an advocate for PLH’s fundraising efforts, engaging with donors, funders, and stakeholders.- Assisting in developing compelling funding proposals and impact reports to attract and retain supporters. Responsibilities:- Ensure that PLH complies with its governing document, UK charity law, and any other relevant legislation or regulations.- Contribute to the strategic direction of PLH and support its mission and values.- Oversee financial stability and ensure responsible resource management.- Provide scrutiny and oversight of PLH’s operations, ensuring accountability and transparency.- Act as an ambassador for PLH, promoting its work and building relationships with key stakeholders.- Attend and actively participate in board meetings, contributing to effective decision-making.- Support risk management by identifying and addressing potential fundraising challenges. Time Commitment: Trustees are expected to attend quarterly board meetings (virtual or in-person) and contribute additional time for strategic planning, committee meetings, and advisory support as needed. Estimated commitment is 6-10 hours per month. Term + Remuneration: The term is three years, renewable for an additional term. This is a voluntary role, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. Desired Qualifications:- Experience in fundraising strategy, grant writing, or donor relations.- Strong network within philanthropy, institutional funding, or corporate partnerships.- Understanding of ethical fundraising standards and compliance.- Passion for PLH’s mission and willingness to contribute expertise and networks.
