About the role
Peepul is seeking an HR Senior Specialist to strengthen our people systems and drive initiatives that support our growth and scale plans. Reporting to the Head of HR, the role will lead key areas of the HR agenda, including people strategy, talent development, employee engagement, leadership capability, and culture-building.
This is a high-impact role requiring strong expertise in organizational development and people management, with the ability to design and implement initiatives that enhance effectiveness and foster a thriving culture at Peepul.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Strategic HR and People Development:
· Design and implement HR strategies that align with Peepul’s mission, vision, and growth plans.
· Partner with senior leadership to build a high-performing, values-driven culture that fosters accountability, collaboration, and trust.
· Provide counsel and thought partnership to leaders on people management, team development, and organizational priorities.
Talent Management and Development:
· Drive initiatives that identify, nurture, and develop talent across all levels, ensuring leadership and team capability growth.
· Build robust learning and development frameworks that equip employees with the skills and mindsets needed for success.
Culture and Employee Engagement:
· Champion initiatives that strengthen Peepul’s culture and employee engagement.
· Design interventions to enhance belonging, motivation, and alignment with organizational values.
· Lead efforts to sustain a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented work environment.
Employee Relations and Wellbeing:
· Manage employee relations with sensitivity, fairness, and discretion; provide guidance and counselling in resolving workplace issues and grievances.
· Promote initiatives that support employee well-being, work-life balance, and mental health.
Policy Development
· Lead the review and revamp of existing HR policies and design new ones grounded in market research, sector best practices, and organizational needs.
· Collaborate closely with the Gender and Inclusion team to ensure all policies and people practices are equitable, inclusive, and aligned with Peepul’s commitment to diversity and well-being.
Qualifications and Role Requirements:
At Peepul, we seek talented professionals passionate about driving educational transformation and making a positive impact. We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and meet the role requirements:
· Educational Background: Master's degree in business administration, Human Resources or related discipline.
· Work Experience: 8-10 years of experience in Human Resources, ideally in the development sector or similarly dynamic environments. At least 2 years in a leadership role with hands-on experience managing the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to retention. Strong background in HR strategy development and execution, with the ability to balance both strategic and operational leadership.
· Other Skills: Exceptional problem-solving and prioritization abilities. Proven capacity to manage complex HR functions while supporting organizational goals. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and organizational tools (e.g., MS Teams, Outlook, OneDrive). Ability to foster collaboration and inspire high-performing teams.
· Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Hindi is essential for this role.
