Program Overview:
Peepul has been partnering with the School Education Department, Govt of Madhya Pradesh, for multiple years now. Working closely with the state bureaucratic leadership, Peepul has played a meaningful role in strengthening the education system of the state.
The partnership has been a successful one – with national and international recognition of the work. One of the flagship programmes of the state we are co-leading is the
CM RISE Schools Programme. This breakthrough programme looks to build ‘world-class’ public schools in the state, that enable excellence. In the first phase, there are 300 K-12 schools selected. Peepul is co-leading the Academic Support and Monitoring Unit.
One of the flagship programmes of the state we are co-leading is the CM Rise Teacher Professional Development programme. This international award-winning programme looks to strengthen the training, coaching and performance management of the ~300,000 teachers across the state.
Additionally, Peepul is also supporting the State in the implementation of the PM SHRI Schools Programme. The PM SHRI Programme is a five-year initiative started by the Ministry of Education that envisions to develop 14500 exemplar schools in the nation to meet the demands of the 21st century. It aims to qualitatively strengthen the schools to showcase the various aspects of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.
Role Summary
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Associate to manage and maintain our office IT infrastructure, support staff with technology needs, and ensure secure, efficient and reliable IT operations that enable programme delivery and organisational performance.
The IT Officer plays a key role in enabling Peepul’s teams to operate seamlessly across locations, supporting everything from network connectivity and hardware maintenance to user support and basic cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support & User Services
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all IT support requests (hardware, software, email, VPN, Printers, connectivity issues).
  • Provide timely troubleshooting, resolution, and escalation as needed.
  • Support setup of computers, laptops, printers, scanners, projectors, and other peripherals.
Network & Systems Management
  • Maintain office network infrastructure (LAN/Wi-Fi), ensuring reliable connectivity for staff.
  • Monitor servers, Printers, firewalls, routers, switches, and other network components.
  • Manage cloud services and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace, email).
Security & Backup
  • Implement and maintain basic cybersecurity measures (antivirus, firewalls, secure passwords).
  • Manage regular backups and recovery checks for critical data.
  • Promote IT security practices among staff (safe browsing, phishing awareness).
Software & Asset Management
  • Install and configure authorized software and updates on organizational devices.
  • Track and maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT assets and licenses.
  • Coordinate with vendors for procurement and maintenance of IT equipment.
Documentation & Training
  • Create and maintain user support documentation and guides.
  • Provide basic onboarding IT support to new employees.
  • Conduct short user training on standard tools and practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Technical Skills
  • Diploma or degree in Hardware and Networking.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • Hands-on experience in IT support, system administration, or helpdesk roles.
  • Strong understanding of Windows and macOS, the MS Office suite, basic networking (Wi-Fi/LAN), and common business applications.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience.
Interpersonal & NGO-Fit Skills
  • Strong communication skills (English + Hindi preferred).
  • Patience and responsiveness in supporting a diverse, mission-driven team.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple support requests.
Preferred

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity basics and data protection best practices.
