About the role

The Data Consultant will support the analysis, management, visualization, and documentation of education-related datasets for initiatives implemented in partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). The role requires a structured, process-oriented professional who can independently clean and analyze data, develop dashboards, and produce clear documentation that enables both effective decision-making and long-term institutional knowledge retention — critical given the two-month engagement window.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  1. Data Management and Cleaning

  • Clean, validate, and organize large datasets related to student learning outcomes, assessments, and program implementation.

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across multiple source systems.

  • Maintain clear documentation of data sources, field definitions, assumptions, and transformations applied.

  1. Data Analysis

  • Perform quantitative analysis to identify trends, gaps, and actionable insights in education data.

  • Support analysis of FLN assessments, attendance records, and program performance metrics.

  • Document methodologies, analytical approaches, and interpretation notes for all analyses.

  1. Dashboarding and Visualization

  • Develop interactive dashboards using Power BI or Tableau for government and internal stakeholders.

  • Design intuitive visualizations that simplify complex data for non-technical audiences.

  • Maintain accompanying dashboard documentation covering data sources, logic, and indicator definitions.

  1. Reporting, Documentation, and Knowledge Management

  • Prepare structured MIS reports, analytical briefs, and insight summaries on a periodic basis.

  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries, metric definitions, and process notes.

  • Clearly document assumptions, data limitations, and caveats for all outputs.

  • Ensure all deliverables are structured for handover, future reference, and scale-up by the program team.

  1. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work in close coordination with MCD officials, program managers, and field teams.

  • Present analytical findings in clear, non-technical language suited to government stakeholders.

  • Align all reporting formats and documentation with stakeholder and institutional requirements.
