About The Opportunity
Polaris seeks a Manager for the Survivor Listservs, a vital program connecting survivors of trafficking with resources, opportunities, and community support. This role will ensure trauma-informed, survivor-centered communications and maintain the integrity and accessibility of Polaris’ Survivor Listservs. The manager will oversee all aspects of the program, including contact management, content creation, and strategic growth, while fostering trust and engagement with survivors.
The role aligns with Polaris’ mission of creating pathways to economic empowerment and survivor-centered systems change. The successful candidate will bring experience in managing communications programs, sensitivity to the unique needs of survivor communities, and a commitment to ethical and inclusive practices.
Responsibilities
Program Management
- Support all Survivor Listserv operations, including contact management, segment creation, and maintenance.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase survivor engagement and participation.
- Manage the creation, review, and distribution of Listserv communications, ensuring alignment with trauma-informed and survivor-centered principles.
- Monitor and update communication processes to ensure ethical guidelines, including confidentiality and transparency, are maintained.
Community Engagement
- Grow relationships with Listserv members and community partners.
- Facilitate regular feedback opportunities for survivors, integrating input to refine the program.
- Respond thoughtfully and promptly to inquiries, feedback, and requests from survivors.
Collaboration and Alignment
- Partner with internal stakeholders to align Listserv activities with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with community partners to verify and share trusted resources and opportunities.
- Support organizational efforts to evaluate program impact and shared learnings.
Data and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of contacts, communications, and metrics in alignment with Polaris’ Impact Framework.
- Analyze program data to identify trends and inform strategic adjustments.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on program performance and areas for growth.
Qualifications
Required
- At least 5 years of professional experience in program management, communications, or survivor engagement.
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed and survivor-centered principles.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in managing contact databases and email communications platforms.
Preferred
- Direct experience working with survivors of trafficking or related populations.
- Familiarity with US social safety net systems and barriers to access.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.
- Experience with data analysis and impact evaluation.
Working Conditions
This position operates in a remote environment, with opportunities for in-person engagement with other Polaris staff.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged sitting, chiefly at a computer terminal;
- Occasional bending, stooping and stretching;
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment;
- Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate in writing, in person and by phone;
