Salary: K457,200 – K523,200 per annum

PEAS Zambia is looking for an experienced and dynamic Human Resource Specialist to lead and coordinate HR functions across our country programme. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring our HR systems and practices are compliant, effective, and aligned with our values and legal frameworks.

You’ll oversee all aspects of HR, including workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, and staff development. You’ll also lead on safeguarding, inclusion, and DEI implementation across the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement PEAS Zambia’s People and Culture strategy

  • Oversee HR compliance, policy updates, and internal/external audits

  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and induction across all teams

  • Provide strategic leadership on employee relations, wellbeing, and staff engagement

  • Drive performance management and coordinate learning and development initiatives

  • Oversee payroll input, HRIS data management, and HR reporting

  • Supervise and build the capacity of the Senior HR Officers

Who we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field (ZIHRM certification required)

  • 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in management

  • Experience working in NGOs and leading HR policy development and recruitment

  • Strong knowledge of Zambian labour law and international HR best practice

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills

  • High levels of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
