The Venn department is the data and technology backbone of our organization, connecting advanced

analytics and custom software tools with field implementation to ensure data-informed decision-making at

every level.

Job Description

The Venn Assistant for Data Collection & Integrity (DCI) strengthens the organization's data foundation by

supporting the DCI team in Venn. This role focuses on enhancing the quality and integrity of data collection

through;

• Day-to-day supervision of the data collection process

• Technological innovation and integration to optimise the collection process

• Collaborative efforts to promote best practices across all data collection activities.

He/she will be responsible for maintaining the annual evaluation calendar, leading the field data collection

activities while ensuring quality data collected, and assisting in the development and execution of survey

resource plans, ensuring resource optimization and cost efficiency.

Roles and Responsibilities

Data Quality Assurance and Improvement:

• Proactively support refining and enhancing data collection instruments.

• Conduct internal pre-rollout testing of data collection tools.

• Monitor field data collection activities to ensure quality and integrity.

• Promote best practices in data collection across the organization.

Technical Support for Field Teams:

• Support the training of field enumerators for various field data collection activities

• Provide technical assistance and support to field data collection teams.

• Troubleshoot technical issues related to data collection instruments and processes.

Project Resource Planning and Optimization:

• Assist in the development and execution of survey resource plans for evaluations.

• Workplan management for enumerator allocation and start and end dates of surveys.

• Ensure optimal resource allocation and utilization for third-party contractors.

• Be a focal person for inventory management at the unit level.

Technological Innovation and Implementation:

• Leverage technological solutions to improve data collection processes.

• Contribute to the innovation of data collection techniques.

• Support the DCI team in implementing new technological solutions.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Monitoring & Evaluation and related subjects.

• Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in the context of development projects or

non-profit organizations.

• Understanding of mobile data collection platforms such as SurveyCTO, CommCare, Survey123, ODK,

or SurveySolutions.

• Proficiency in statistical packages such as Stata, and SPSS and excellent spreadsheet skills

• Excellent written, communication, and facilitation skills to effectively present

findings and recommendations to non-technical project stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Detail-oriented and well-organized to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
