1. Introduction
The Independent Contractor - Card Printing - Assistant is a temporary role under the venn department. It will be responsible for the end-to-end process of producing plastic community cards. This includes the preparation of data, printing, quality control, sorting, and packaging of cards for secure and timely delivery to various designated districts. The assistant must ensure all tasks are executed with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
2. Scope of Work
The assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Data Management: Receive and verify data for card printing, ensuring that all information is accurate and formatted correctly. This might include cross-referencing data against provided databases.
- Card Printing: Operate and maintain a plastic identity card printer. The contractor must be proficient in using the associated software, managing print queues, and troubleshooting minor technical issues. They are responsible for ensuring that the correct card template is used for each batch.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks on all printed cards to ensure legibility, correct color, and proper alignment of all text and barcodes. Any defective cards must be identified and reprinted immediately.
- Sorting and Arrangement: Accurately sort and organize printed cards according to the specified criteria, such as by district, cluster, or village. This includes matching each card to its corresponding data on a delivery manifest.
- Packaging and Dispatch: Securely package the sorted cards for safe transit. The assistant must ensure that the packaging protects the cards from damage and that all necessary documentation (e.g., manifests, delivery notes) is included.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate record of all materials used, including blank cards, printer ribbons, and other consumables. The assistant will report any low stock levels to the relevant supervisor to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Security: Adhere to all security protocols related to handling sensitive personal data and identity cards. The assistant must maintain a secure working environment and promptly report any breaches or suspicious activity.
3. Key Deliverables
The assistant is expected to deliver the following:
- Accurate and Timely Production: A consistent output of high-quality, error-free identity cards according to the agreed-upon schedule.
- Securely Packaged Deliveries: All card batches are packaged securely with accompanying documentation for safe transport to their destination.
- Inventory Reports: Regular and accurate reports on material usage and stock levels.
4. Qualifications and Skills
- Education: A bachelor's degree
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using computers and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel). The ability to quickly learn and operate new printing software is essential.
5. Reporting
The Independent Contractor - Card Printing Assistant will report directly to the Administrative Assistant - Mbarara Office. They will provide regular updates on production status and any challenges encountered.
