Position Summary


We are seeking an experienced Product manager who also has experience in game design to join our team focused on developing personalized learning journeys and education games for pre-primary children aged 3-6. Our mission is to make learning fun and engaging by delivering high-quality educational content through fun activities and games. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end design process, which includes setting the project vision, prioritizing key learning outcomes, defining the users learning journey, ensuring cohesion with RL's overall learning program, user-testing, effective data collection and analysis to create a highly impactful learning product.


Key Responsibilities


  • Create a cohesive learning journey: Coordinate with the education & content team to create an effective learning journey across whatsapp groups and the digital learning games ensuring effective sequencing, scaffolding and repetition for better learning.

  • Create personalisation keeping in mind age, demographics, time spent in program, learning mastery and other such factors to ensure engagement and retention on the product

  • Gamification: Ensuring gamification elements enable users to visualize their progress and build investment in long-term engagement with the product.

  • Conceptualization and Design of Games: Lead the conceptualization of game ideas that align with specific learning objectives for pre-primary children. Design engaging and intuitive game mechanics that effectively teach and assess these objectives.

  • Learning Assessment: Design and implement innovative assessment mechanisms within games and in the wider product to accurately measure the skills and progress of children in relation to the targeted learning objectives.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with educational experts and software developers to ensure that the product is educational, engaging, technically sound, and effectively promoted.

Requirements (primary)

  • 3 + years of experience in education and/ or design, with a portfolio showcasing successful projects in developing learning products.

  • Proficiency in human-centered design, fundamental design methodologies and basic understanding of industry standard design tools.

  • Creative thinker with the ability to solve problems and translate findings from user research and early concepts into well-defined and detailed products.

  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills. Ability to articulate and convey ideas, goals and solutions to diverse stakeholders.

  • Help in establishing and leading a small group of designers while promoting a growth mindset.

  • Experience with creating and implementing design systems and style guides

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers and developers

  • Experience with designing learning games for kids aged 3-6 preferably

Data Analytics & Personalisation

Own the data strategy for the Personalisation Pod – define KPIs, build dashboards, and surface actionable insights to guide product decisions.

Conduct deep-dive analyses on user behaviour, learning outcomes, engagement funnels, and retention to identify personalisation opportunities.

Design and run A/B tests and experiments to validate personalisation hypotheses; interpret results and translate them into product iterations.

Use segmentation and cohort analysis to understand how different learner profiles (age, language, device, engagement) respond to product changes.

Work with data engineers to ensure robust event tracking, data pipelines, and a reliable analytics infrastructure.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Data Analytics: Strong SQL for independent data pulls; A/B testing and experiment design; cohort, funnel, and segmentation analysis; Excel/Google Sheets for reporting.

  • AI Tools: Proficiency in Cursor for scripting and rapid prototyping; familiarity with LLM APIs (OpenAI/Anthropic) and prompt iteration; proactive in adopting AI productivity tools.

  • Core PM: Roadmap creation, backlog prioritisation, user stories, Agile/Scrum, Jira/Asana.

  • User Empathy: Strong empathy for early childhood learners, parents, and teachers when interpreting data and designing personalisation features.

Preferred

  • EdTech or early childhood product experience.

  • Python or R for data analysis; experience with personalisation algorithms or recommendation systems.

  • Familiarity with AI evaluation frameworks and child safety guidelines for AI products.

  • Multi-lingual content experience (Hindi/English preferred).

  • Background in cognitive science, education, or instructional design.
