At Simple Education Foundation (SEF) we work with the government to build state-wide strengthening programs for teachers and principals to increase the standard of teaching in government schools across India. Our mission is to strengthen 1 million educators by 2028.

About the role

The program is in partnership with the Department of Education, Government of Punjab. The program aims to reimagine how educators' professional development can be strengthened to deliver high-quality education to students in government schools through a mentoring and classroom support program.

The role will entail working closely with the SEF team to support the Department and to design & facilitate in-service educator interventions. You will also be working with the team in designing, facilitating, monitoring and collaborating with stakeholders for the entire program. It will also include codifying the program and managing the constant evolution of the program as we move ahead.


How can you succeed in this role?

  • Design and facilitate training plans and interactive tools/ resources for facilitators and coaches (Academic Support Group) aligned with SEF's structured pedagogy approach

  • Design monitoring tools like exit tickets, learning surveys etc., to gauge the effectiveness/impact of the intervention

  • Conduct on-ground visits to collect feedback through FGDs, need analysis, observations etc., and incorporated into training design.

  • Documentation of the design and testing process, to codify the process of design at scale, and learnings derived for the internal team, org and external audience

  • Timely preparation and compilation of the Project Annual/Quarterly Work Plans and Progress Review Reports


Requirements

Skills Required

  • Program Design

    • Engage meaningfully with stakeholders and adapt a human-centred design approach to developing programs, workshops, capacity-building spaces, learning modules, etc

    • Is proficient in developing and designing curricula for teacher development program

    • Can engage in a participatory design process with diverse stakeholders

  • Collaboration :

    • Collaborate with stakeholders as equal partners in design, facilitation and reflection towards a culture of collective ownership

    • Collaborating with senior government officials and state partners to support the design and effective implementation of educator development programs for the state

  • Facilitation

    • Facilitate large and small group sessions for master trainers, teachers, etc. (a diverse range of stakeholders)

  • Data Analysis & Research

    • Design Data tools and data management systems to meet Intervention needs and goals and gauge program effectiveness

    • Collect & Analyze data and generate reflections/trends towards interventions for self and stakeholders using Excel, docs etc.

    • Is adept in deploying research methodologies to support interventions

    • Observe interventions, programs, and practices and give feedback which is clear, direct and evidence-based

  • Project Management

    • Navigate uncertainty and roadblocks to achieve long-term goals through innovative ideas and collaboration.

Knowledge

  • Proficiency in spoken and written Punjabi is preferred

  • Knowledge of creating session plans and conducting research to cull out key learnings and insights

  • Knowledge of teacher-centric education, practices and development structures

  • A Master's degree from a reputable institution will be preferred

Experience

  • 4-7 years of experience in the education sector, specifically in teaching, curriculum design or teacher training is mandatory

  • Facilitation of workshops for adults, preferably in both small and large groups

  • Previous work experience with government agencies is preferred


Benefits

Compensation will be between Rs 7,50,000 - Rs 9,50,000 (for Manager) and Rs 9,50,000 - Rs 12,00,000 (for Senior Manager) based on the experience of the candidate and will include the following perks:
