oin the Simple Team!
Simple Education Foundation | JD 2024
Project Consultant, Teacher Coach
At Simple Education Foundation (SEF) we work with the government to build state-wide strengthening programs for teachers and principals to increase the standard of teaching in government schools across India. Our mission is to strengthen 1 million educators by 2028.
We are a highly driven team with over 50 years of cumulative experience in teaching in classrooms and working with government school systems. Our team is young, dynamic, bold and audacious enough to make this mission come true in our lifetime. To help us accelerate our impact, we are looking to onboard more members on our paper plane!
Why is this role important for our mission?
Uttarakhand's diverse geography, with 10 out of 13 districts situated in hilly terrain, presents unique opportunities and challenges in implementing educational initiatives, including Teacher Professional Development (TPD) programs. ASER 2022 highlights that 28% of primary schools are single-staffed due to factors such as urban migration. Additionally, our diagnostic study in the Narendra-Nagar block of Tehri Garhwal district has identified areas for growth in student learning levels and linguistic diversity. The current TPD model primarily focuses on large-scale training for monograde contexts, which does not fully address the state’s unique multi-grade and translinguistic needs.
This role is crucial as we work to align Teacher coaching programs with Uttarakhand's diverse educational landscape, aiming to enhance student learning outcomes statewide. Our approach is grounded in systemic reform, progressing block by block. We currently collaborate with five schools through our partner schools program to understand, pilot, and refine solutions tailored to Uttarakhand's hilly regions. The insights gained are now being scaled to the block level through targeted interventions, making this role vital to the success of our mission.
What priorities will you be shaping?

What key goals will you focus on, aligned with our priorities?
Support Schools: Provide classroom demonstrations, co-teaching, and resource-sharing across 25-30 schools in 9 clusters within the block.
Facilitate Core-Group Workshops: Organize workshops for the core group to collaborate, address challenges, and highlight successes, all aligned with the block's vision.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Regularly collect and analyze data to assess intervention effectiveness, and create detailed reports to keep stakeholders informed of progress, updates, and challenges.
