We build ethical, inclusive digital ID powered by biometrics to verify that health, aid, and services truly reach people. Simprints partners with organisations like Gavi to boost immunisation rates in developing countries, Ministries of Health like Ghana on pandemic response, and NGOs like BRAC to deliver maternal healthcare. Studies have shown Simprints increases impact through real-time, precision data, for example increasing maternal health visits by 38% in Bangladesh or accurate HIV tracing by 62% in Malawi. Today we’ve worked in over 17 countries helping deliver health, aid, and finance to >3M people. About the Role
This role ensures the delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to key stakeholders, including project managers and the board of directors, to support data-driven decisions and drive financial performance. As part of a small, agile team, they are hands-on in managing day-to-day operations and bookkeeping tasks, handling the details until transaction volumes justify additional team members. Department Overview
Primary Function: The Finance team at Simprints manages the company’s financial health, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support the organisation’s mission. They provide strategic financial planning, budget management, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Key Goals:
- Ensure effective financial planning and budget management to support organizational growth.
- Maintain compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Optimize resource allocation to maximize impact and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting Operations
- Managing and performing the day-to-day accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, general ledger, cost accounting, and revenue recognition
- Overseeing month end close and ensuring all transactions are recorded, filed, and reported properly
- Preparing and publishing all monthly financial statements and accompanying reports
- Processing payroll and associated processes
- Manage day to day relationship with bank
2. Policy Development and Process Improvement
- Documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls
- Leading consistent improvement of operational processes and accounting systems to streamline the overall work and to automate processes where possible
- Leading and/or assisting in special projects
3. Reporting
- Developing annual company and project budgets with key stakeholders and overseeing variance analysis
- Reforecasting of expected performance, financial modelling, and scenario analysis
- Assisting project managers in preparation of financial reports to funders
- Producing insightful management information and key performance indicator analysis
- Performing ad-hoc analyses
4. Tax, Audit, and Compliance
- Overseeing the company’s annual audit process and liaising with external personnel where required
- Ensuring compliance with funder requirements
- Overseeing project audits where required
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts, managing annual tax filing, and R&D tax credit work
- Filing and payment of VAT and payroll tax related item
Skills:
- Utilise Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) experience
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving
- A service-oriented mindset
- Communicate effectively across many levels, building strong interpersonal relationships with engineers, designers, operational managers, and external stakeholders
