Your mission at Sistema.bio:

Sistema.bio India was launched in 2018 and has now expanded its operations into 21 states with over 90,000 family farms benefitting from our technology. We are a 150 cr annual revenue business in India, and have a passionate team of 500 people spread across India delivering impact to farmers in the field, in our factory and in our offices.

Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer and collaborating with global executives, the India Country / Managing Director will be responsible for leading the India business by developing and executing a clear commercial strategy and maintaining high-quality business operations. He/she will be leading and motivating the India team, and scaling the impact of Sistema.bio in the region.


You’ll be in charge of:

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with Sistema.bio's global leadership, provide insights from the Indian market, and adopt the global vision to build the strategy for the India region to scale the impact.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the Sistema.bio business in India by providing effective leadership and direction, developing the teams and culture to scale the impact.
  • Growth & Execution: Drive growth in the region by developing and executing strategies to increase revenue, establishing strategic partnerships, and managing a team to optimize sales and marketing approaches, while analyzing market trends and sales performance.
  • Operational Efficiency and process building: Oversee the general operations and processes, including team and infrastructure management (offices and warehouses), product deliveries, installation, and after-sales services, to ensure customer satisfaction, while maintaining efficiencies.
  • Manufacturing & New Product Launch: Oversee the factory management, and provide requirements to global product management teams for new products, and build strategies to launch new products in the local market.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the country business's Profit and Loss (P&L) account by analyzing financial performance, managing budgets and cash flows, and implementing strategies and processes to optimize revenue and control costs to ensure the overall profitability of the business. Ensure compliance to the local rules and regulations.
  • Brand Representation: Represent the company at various public forums, communicate with government stakeholders, engage with media outlets, and cultivate relationships with industry stakeholders to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
  • Regional Expansion: Build strategies to scale business operations in other Asian Countries. Grow existing pilots in the regions and develop a roadmap for future expansion.

More about YOU:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Management, Finance or any relevant field
  • More than 10 years of experience in the renewables/Agri/clean cooking/other fields related to the environment with general management and commercial experience in India
  • Proven Leadership and/or Entrepreneurship Experience
  • Understanding of culture and business operations conditions in India
  • Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels, including people management, leadership in a global organization
  • Native or advanced written and verbal communication skills in Hindi and English
