Why we need you

Springboard Collaborative invites talented and passionate candidates to apply for the position of Senior Associate, Professional Development. The Senior Associate, Professional Development will be responsible for effectively training staff to begin Springboard programming at assigned partner sites. A successful candidate will be an effective trainer and presenter who demonstrates great adaptability, customer focus, and teamwork skills. This is a remote position with occasional travel requirements and an expected start date around July 1, 2024, and candidates must reside in the U.S. More information about location and travel can be found below.

Springboard Collaborative closes the literacy gap by closing the gap between home and school. We coach educators and family members to help kids learn to read by 4th grade. Springboard envisions a world in which parents and teachers work together—rather than in isolation—to accelerate student learning. The Senior Associate, Professional Development supports this goal by ensuring our staff are well prepared to make an impact and form strong relationships at our partner sites.

The Senior Associate, Professional Development will report to the Senior Director, Professional Development and work as part of the Parter Success Support team. This is a great opportunity to support an entrepreneurial team to maximize the impact of a rapidly growing organization.

Here are your priorities in the first year:

  • You will achieve a 4.54/5 average survey score for “this training met my expectations/needs as a learner” survey question across all live Springboard-facilitated professional development.
  • You will ensure 86% of staff agree that they “had the training they needed to do their jobs well” as measured by the end-of-program survey.
  • You will align 1+ problems/opportunities to the org-wide action plan identified per season via robust use of the product intake form and consultation on associated projects.
  • You will support the teacher onboarding/training journey by implementing 3+ service innovations for the year focused on reducing teacher NVA time and better retention of content.

Here are your responsibilities within and beyond the first year:

  • You manage professional development projects for assigned partnerships.
    • Complete program project tasks on time
    • Support internal staff with use of our professional development processes
    • Answer professional development questions for district contacts
    • Collect and implement feedback on project management
  • You facilitate assigned professional development trainings using existing materials.
    • Facilitate trainings using facilitation best practices
    • Analyze training data to make adjustments to facilitation
    • Provide feedback on professional development content to the Senior Learning Designer, Professional Development
    • Support the team in facilitating unassigned trainings
  • You provide additional training and support to drive impact.
    • Work with your manager to determine priority partnerships
    • Collaborate with Program Directors to determine necessary supports
    • Use provided resources to train staff
    • Receive feedback on training to improve services
  • You serve as a product expert on Springboard Collaborative resources.
    • Regularly participate in product enablements and office hours
    • Answer questions about resources available to Springboard participants
    • Internalize internal and external resource repositories
    • Provide user feedback on products and resources
  • You serve as subject matter expert on 1-2 workstreams.
    • Participate in workstream-relevant meetings
    • Consult on workstream-relevant projects
    • Create and update workstream service-level agreements
    • Provide necessary updates to the Partner Success Team department

  • Adaptability & Flexibility: You adapt to changing business needs by updating professional development collateral as needed to fit to partner changes, responding to product updates with curiosity, and facilitating unassigned trainings as needed.
  • Customer Focus: You build and maintain customer satisfaction with our products and services by using program details to design relevant training plans, gathering data about the teacher experience, building relationships with district leads and seasonal leadership, and supporting participants in their training & onboarding experience in various ways.
  • Teamwork: You promote cooperation and commitment within your team to achieve goals and deliverables by regularly attending team and intradepartmental meetings, working collaboratively with the Parter Success Delivery/Support and Product teams, and using appropriate mediums to proactively share internal updates (Asana, enablements, Gchat, etc.)
  • Training & Presenting Information: You effectively deliver information to groups by using best practices, differentiating trainings as needed while maintaining product fidelity, training equally well in all settings (virtual/in-person, small/large groups), and communicate clearly in internal meetings.
  • Valuing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: You seek and leverage diverse perspectives in group processes and decision-making, create inclusive learning environments, and continually grow in your ability to embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • You have 3+ years of PreK-3 teaching experience.
  • You have a Master’s degree in education.
  • You have access to reliable means to travel to potential on-site trainings.
  • You have 1-3 years experience leading professional development and/or coaching teachers.

It would also be nice if you had:

  • Prior experience with Springboard Collaborative’s programs
  • Prior experience in other after-school, tutoring, or alternative certification programs.

While this description is meant to provide an overview of the responsibilities of the Senior Associate, Professional Development, we are seeking candidates who demonstrate flexibility and can adapt to evolving needs in an entrepreneurial environment.

Our compensation values: At Springboard, compensation equity is integral to the way we operate and our commitment to competitiveness, pay equity, performance-based rewards, transparent & equitable career growth, and progressive benefits.

Compensation for this role: Each role at Springboard is placed in a compensation band with 5 levels. Generally, we expect all candidates that meet the hiring criteria to be offered the midpoint of the band. This role sits within Band 3. The midpoint of this band is $82,183. The actual level of the successful candidate (and corresponding salary) will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, and other factors. You may also be eligible for Springboard's collective bonus program.

Our process to determine compensation: Springboard does not negotiate the offered salary during the offer conversation. Throughout the interview process, we will evaluate your alignment with the compensable factors listed in the job description. From there, we will determine your starting salary on a level within the job band.
