AMI is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Manager to support the successful delivery of partner-led programmes across Africa. The Project Manager will be responsible for driving day-to-day project execution, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely reporting and documentation, and supporting monitoring, evaluation, and event logistics. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional with strong communication skills and a passion for impactful project delivery in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
The Project Manager will play the following critical roles at AMI:
Project Management & Execution
Support the SPM in developing and executing detailed project plans and timelines
Own the delivery of selected project tasks within that workplan as agreed with the SPM and Project Director
Manage day-to-day project coordination, including budget tracking, task tracking and deadline management internally
Coordinate across internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project milestones.
Act as the point of contact for coaches, masterclass speakers, facilitators, etc
Programme Completion: Regularly engage with internal stakeholders to ensure they are on track to successfully complete and achieve the project goals and objectives.
Working with different internal team members to ensure constant progress on the workplan and leading regular internal squad meetings to communicate progress and key action steps.
Working with AMI’s M&E team to update and use cohort-level dashboards to regularly review key programme data points to assess progress against programme milestones
Flagging off-track or at-risk tasks and working with the Lead for Partner Programmes or Senior program manager to proactively problem- solve
Providing up-to-date data and feedback about project progress to enable accurate and on-time reporting
Stakeholder & Partner Engagement
Ensure timely and professional communication with all stakeholders involved in the programme.
Support ongoing relationship-building with local partners and ecosystem actors in relevant regions.
Manage communication and coordination with programme speakers, coaches, and facilitators.
M&E support and coordination
Coordinate occasional field-level activities such as data collection visits, spot-checks, or event feedback, ensuring timely sharing of information with the central M&E team.
Support basic data quality checks and documentation as requested, escalating any issues to the central team
Act as a liaison between Rwanda project teams and AMI’s central M&E function to facilitate smooth communication and alignment.
Reporting & Documentation
Support high quality project documentation by preparing concise updates, field visit notes, and event summaries.
Maintain accurate records of project activities and partner feedback, in line with AMI’s reporting processes.
Support knowledge sharing by capturing lessons learned and sharing them with the central project and M&E teams.
Event Coordination
Plan and execute all in-person sessions for assigned projects.
Coordinate 1:1 coaching for SMEs, startups, including scheduling, contracting, feedback, and billing.
Manage logistics to ensure a smooth participant experience.
Liaise with the Ops team to secure vendors, venues, and event staff.
Administrative & Other Responsibilities
Provide general administrative support to the programme team as needed.
Support the country lead in local co-ordination, e.g. of business development events/ events to support central SME recruitment team
Support local impact story gathering as required
Carry out other project-related duties as delegated by the SPM in alignment with the overall scope of various projects
