The Luminos Fund, a fast-growing international nonprofit bringing education opportunities to the world’s most vulnerable children, seeks an experienced and dynamic Finance and Data Officer to join its Liberia team. The Finance and Data Officer will support day-to-day financial and administrative operations for the Luminos Fund Liberia office, managing key aspects of data collection, reporting, and compliance.
This full-time position will be based in the Luminos Fund Liberia office in Monrovia.

Duties and Responsibilities
Finance:
- Support the overall accounting and bookkeeping functions for the Luminos Fund Liberia office, including managing banking, payments, and payroll processes; ensuring accurate tax withholdings; supporting audits; and preparing all required tax filings in compliance with local regulations.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of the annual country budget, as well as budgets for implementing partners.
- Contribute to financial reporting for the Liberia team by preparing and reviewing budget vs. actual (BvA) reports for various programmatic activities, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with donor and organizational requirements.
- Review expenditure documentation for staff and implementing partners.
- Strengthen the financial management and reporting capacity of implementing partners through training and ongoing support.
Administration:
- Support compliance across legal, HR, IT, and finance functions, including organizational registration, accreditation processes, and adherence to tax and regulatory requirements.
- In consultation with senior leadership, review and update Luminos Fund Liberia’s organizational policies on an annual basis.
- Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date repository of organization documents, including grant agreements, internal policies and procedures, and other operational records.
- Manage effective daily office operations, including office maintenance and logistics.
- Support procurement processes, ensuring compliance with Luminos Fund Liberia’s policies and donor regulations.
- Support with vendor management.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Data Management & Analysis:
- Collaborate with the Luminos program team and partner organizations to ensure smooth data collection and data integrity.
- Support partner organizations to establish and operate effective data collection systems and processes.
- Conduct data cleaning and processing in accordance with Luminos Fund’s internal best practices.
- Maintain the Luminos Liberia data dashboard to support efficient program management and informed decision-making.
- Analyze program-related data to drive for results and support effective and support transparent governance.
- Collaborate with the Communications Team to identify and highlight impact stories, trends, and data-driven insights of interest to governments and funding partners.
- Benchmark Luminos program data against other international standards to identify opportunities for improvement and refinement.
Qualifications and Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Quantitative coursework required.
- Proficient in data cleaning and analysis with advanced skills in Excel and other data management and analysis tools.
- 3+ years’ experience in corporate or nonprofit settings.
- Detail-oriented: meticulous in reviewing data, financial records, and documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Experience reporting on multiple grants, including restricted funding.
- Advanced skills and experience in accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred), MS Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
- Committed to learning the details of nonprofit accounting.
