The Job

We are seeking an inspiring and visionary Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) to develop and drive the organization's long-term strategic vision, growth, and sustainable impact. This role is the architect of growth, focusing on translating the mission into measurable, scalable results by diversifying revenue streams, forging high-impact strategic alliances, and pioneering innovative financing models that unlock new resources for the organization's delivery of impact. In this pivotal role, you will guide the organisation towards sustainable impact and innovation, ensuring that Tiko stays ahead of the curve while remaining deeply connected to its purpose and people.
The CSO will oversee three core, integrated pillars: Strategy & Planning, Innovative Financing & Business Development, and Strategic Partnership Management.

Key responsibilities:

Strategy Leadership

  • Lead the implementation of Tiko’s 5 year strategic plan, setting a clear direction and ensuring measurable progress across departments and markets
  • Actively safeguard, nurture, and evolve the strategy to ensure sustained impact
  • Balance short-term needs with long-term vision, enforcing strategic cohesion within the organisation and proactively champion necessary strategic adjustments and transformation initiatives.

Innovative Financing & Business Development

  • Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive business development strategy, with a focus on generating non-traditional, sustainable revenue for Tiko.
  • Oversee a team of business development specialists who are in charge of implementing the business development strategy, produce concepts and proposals
  • Strengthen and maintain trusted relationships with new and existing donors and funding partners.
  • Develop, launch, and manage innovative financing instruments — including government co-financing, outcomes-based programmes, and other new models - to attract and sustain funding for Tiko’s growth

Strategic Partnership Management

  • Lead the negotiation and design of complex, multi-stakeholder partnerships that bring new resources, technical expertise, and access to additional beneficiary populations.

  • Experience in diversifying revenue streams and developing new funding models that enhance financial resilience.
  • Deep understanding of market intelligence and how to apply insights to drive strategic positioning, growth, and resource mobilisation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse internal and external stakeholders.
