Can you keep a room of complex stakeholders fiercely aligned on measurable data, while simultaneously crafting a pitch deck that secures the next multi-million-dollar blended funding round? Can you both implement with rigour, and imagine a better world where transactions are easier and capital flows faster to the needs of women and girls? Are you as comfortable speaking to a nurse at a rural health facility as you are presenting research at a conference?

About Tiko

Tiko is an African nonprofit committed to strengthening the potential and resilience of adolescent girls across Africa. We address the “Triple Threat” of unintended pregnancy, HIV infection, and sexual and gender-based violence by building local health ecosystems that provide stigma-free, no-cost, quality-assured services.

Our model brings together key local actors: community-based organizations (CBO) with peer mobilisers who act as health companions to girls; public and private health clinics that deliver care; and retail partners that redeem Tiko Miles -our behaviour-change incentive programme that rewards service uptake and feedback.

We invest in partners by strengthening CBO capacity, training frontline workers and providers, supporting clinic quality improvement, and compensating partners based on performance. Our technology platform connects all actors by enabling referrals, verifying service delivery, facilitating payments, and generating real-time data.

Tiko operates in six countries: Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Burkina Faso, South Africa, and Nigeria, with additional offices in Portugal, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. For a clear overview of our work, we recommend watching this short

Whether you are working from our biggest office in Nairobi, the fast-growing office in South Africa, or from home, our people are young, and our culture is global and dynamic. Our work environment is fast-paced, informal, and friendly.

Preference will be given to candidates who are based in Africa or possess significant, deep-rooted experience working across African markets.

The Job

We are seeking a high-caliber Performance & Growth Manager to step into a vital, dual-hatted role within our outcomes-based financing ecosystem. This is a unique, strategic position for someone who thrives at the intersection of rigorous operational delivery and capital mobilization.

You will be responsible for driving the performance of our live outcomes mechanisms while actively supporting our fundraising pipeline. This is initially a fractional role (2 days per week until the end of the year), with a strong potential to scale into a permanent, expanded position as our contract portfolio expands.

Responsibilities

Outcomes Performance & Sector Strategy

  • Rigorous Delivery: Lead and navigate highly complex performance management meetings, ensuring all partners stay accountable to verified metrics.
  • Strategic Evolution: Operate at a high altitude to think critically about how the outcomes-based financing sector can be structurally improved and scaled.
  • Research & Evaluation: Deeply understand and leverage different research and evaluation methodologies to validate ground-level impact for donors.

Fundraising & Capital Mobilisation

  • High-Impact Pitching: Translate complex impact data into punchy, visually compelling, and commercially sharp pitch decks for institutional funders.
  • Network Navigation: Leverage your existing understanding of the key global and regional players within the outcomes-based funding space to open doors.

Negotiation & Partner Management

  • Commercial Leadership: Lead high-stakes negotiations with global donors, local implementers, and community organizations.
  • Ecosystem Alignment: Bridge the gap between investor expectations and ground-level operational realities with diplomacy and grit.

About You
You are a rare hybrid: part rigorous data-driven operator, part persuasive storyteller. You don't get lost in the weeds of complicated meetings, but you also know how to zoom out to see the macroeconomic landscape of social finance. You value clarity, move with pragmatism, and are deeply passionate about making development funding more accountable and impactful.

Requirements

  • Outcomes Expertise: A strong understanding of outcomes-based financing mechanisms (e.g., Payment-by-Results, Impact Bonds).
  • Fundraising Track Record: Demonstrated ability to build highly effective fundraising collateral and pitch decks that successfully convert.
  • Master Negotiator: Proven experience leading commercial or strategic negotiations with diverse international stakeholders.
  • Evaluation Literacy: Solid comprehension of research design, data verification frameworks, and impact evaluation models.
  • Geographic Focus: Deep professional experience working within the African continent (strongly preferred).
  • Operational Experience (Prefered): bring credibility to your problem solving with implementers built on a track record of delivery in complicated or challenging environments
  • Availability: Comfortable committing to a focused 2 days per week capacity until the end of the year, with the flexibility to scale once new business is won. Travel may very occasionally be required to attend meetings and conferences.
