Summary
VillageReach is providing technical support to the Equity Accelerator Funding program (EAF) provincial coordination in Tshopo and Haut-Katanga for effective and efficient coordination of EAF and other interventions and investments. The EAF is a Gavi initiative designed to reduce the number of zero-dose and under-immunized children by addressing barriers to equitable vaccine access. Based on VillageReach learnings from this support , we aim to inform and influence Gavi’s 6.0 strategy, so it is characterized by innovation, equity, effectiveness in vaccine delivery, empowerment of local actors, resilience to outbreaks and climate change impacts.
This position will be supervised by the DRC Lead for Advocacy, Communication and Partnership and will work in close collaboration with the NGCA Program Manager, and Global Lead for Immunization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time.
1. Project Management and Coordination
o Provide day-to-day management of the project, including organizing and attending meetings and documenting meeting outcomes
o Collate inputs from provincial teams and integrate them into the EAF learning framework as well as other externally facing documentations, ensuring a strategic perspective is maintained.
o Collate inputs and prepare briefing materials for monthly update discussions with the the funder , as well as biweekly update meetings with technical partners and the funder and VillageReach.
o Track timeline and deliverables for all SOWs, including cost-effectiveness analysis, gender, provincial coordination etc.
o Communicate with internal stakeholders within VillageReach’s DRC office and globally, including supporting the identification and resolution of challenges
o Draft and finalize PowerPoint presentations and documents for discussions with the funders and technical partners in English, ensuring clarity and alignment with project priorities.
o Provide regular updates to Gavi’s SCM and incorporate their feedback into project planning and implementation.
2. EAF learnings:
o Coordinate with DRC staff in Tshopo and Haut Katanga to populate the learning framework and capture key learnings
o Document and capture how EAF is functioning in DRC.
o Lead internal discussions with DRC staff to reflect on functioning of various zero dose (ZD) interventions to (1) form VillageReach’s perspective on how ZD interventions are performing, and (2) develop a plan for where VillageReach can support
o Synthesize lessons learned from provinces to inform VillageReach’s strategic inputs into Gavi’s evolving policies and programming.
o Ongoing support to TA and documentation of learnings
3. Technical Assistance to Mashako Plan Steering Committee :
o Support and participate in key EPI meetings reviewing various investments/programs, including those focused on ZD by analyzing immunization data, All data analyzed will be gender disaggregated to the extent possible and include indicators that impact gender; consolidating and analyzing the monthly data of the performance indicators of the Mashako Plan; monitoring the implementation of the action points taken during the coordination meetings;
o Support Tshopo and Haut-Katanga provinces in the evaluation of the implementation of the key recommendations resulting from the Evaluation workshop of EAF and other ZD interventions . .
o Monitoring the outputs and outcomes of activities and provide a critical feedback loop for EAF programming.
o Support the planning and organization of the ICC meetings.
4. External Representation
o Track and keep updated with key strategy development (e.g. Gavi 6.0 ), leveraging regular calls and meeting with the funder and Immunization Lead at VillageReach
o Coordinate closely with technical partners to jointly plan and prepare materials for Gavi engagements, ensuring consistency in approach and messaging.
o Ensure that DRC’s experience is visible to the right audiences at the right time determined collaboratively with VillageReach and the funder, to influence strategic improvements in immunization interventions (e.g. HSS strategy) so ZD and under-immunized children are more effectively reached
o Strong coordination with VillageReach Immunization Lead and CSO Representative to the Gavi Board to engage with Gavi.
o Work with the communication team in DRC and globally to create case studies and other forms of collateral to inform donor strategies (e.g. Gavi’s 6.0 strategy).
o Work with the VillageReach Immunization Lead, communication team in DRC and globally to engage the media and share key activities and outcomes of ZD efforts
- Perform any other tasks as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position directly supervises up to 3 employees.
Education & Experience:
- Must have a degree in public health, public policy or other relevant fields.
- At least 5 years’ experience in immunization and public health, particularly program management;Experience working in strategy, and ability to engage in strategic discussions is critical for the success of this role.
- Proven success working with all levels of staff in a multicultural environment to achieve goals. Ability to work across time zones from teams in Seattle, DRC and Geneva is essential.
- Prior experience documenting health program processes, including immunization and/or community engagement, preferably with disadvantaged communities and related to public or community health services.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and reliable follow-through, with outstanding attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent command of the French language in reading, writing and oral communication.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is a must.

Environment and Physical Demands:
VillageReach employees typically work in a shared, open environment with task and conference rooms accessible to employees for privacy and meetings. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Due to the time zone differences across our USA, Kenya and Country Offices and location of other global staff, we have established core collaboration hours between 6am Pacific Time and 18:00 South Africa Time (GMT+1) Monday through Thursday. All staff, regardless of location are expected to be available between these hours. During Daylight Savings Time, this allows for 12 hours per week (3 hours/day) of collaboration time and during Standard Time, 8 hours (2 hours/day). We do not hold cross-office meetings on Friday.

Compensation & Benefits:
VillageReach has an established compensation structure that is based on the relevant market and internally transparent. The annual gross remuneration of this position is $59,700 - $ 64,400 p.a. We hire people into the established range based on their experience and education, and considering internal equity. We do not inquire about salary history.
