Program Overview for Climate Economics and Finance (CEF)

The Climate, Economics, and Finance (CEF) Program uses cutting-edge analysis, innovative tools, and real-world implementation to inform India’s low-carbon transition—one that is technologically viable, economically sensible, socially inclusive, and nature-positive.

Job Highlight:

We are looking for an intern to join our Climate, Economics, and Finance (CEF) team. This individual will primarily support data collection for energy-economy models and literature reviews for knowledge products.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Pursuing a Master’s degree from a reputed university in climate change, sustainability, public policy, development studies, or any other related subjects.
  • Minimum 0-1 years of relevant work /internship experience.

What you will do:

  • Conduct literature reviews and compile data from diverse datasets; support data cleaning, validation, and preparation for the Green Economy Model for India.
  • Document model interlinkages and associated data sources.
  • Review literature for ongoing projects under the Green Economy Model (GEM), including on the climate and land-use impacts of rising biofuel demand and production.
  • Analyse and present data from model outputs and any relevant databases they come across during the internship.
  • Support the team with any other tasks as required during the internship

What you will need

  • Proficiency in the use of MS-Office (including MS-Excel, MS-Word, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of economics and climate change.
  • Familiarity with Google Scholar, digital libraries (such as JSTOR, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink), and datasets (such as IPCC, IEA, World Bank, FAO, government portals) is preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Python/R/STATA is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Vensim is desirable.

Stipend: 25,000 Per Month

Location: Bengaluru/Mumbai/Delhi
Duration: 3-6 Months
Start date: As soon as possible
