District Coordinator (Davangere - India)

About the role
The District Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the Ganita Ganaka program at the district level. The coordinator will serve as a vital link between the district administration, state team, district/block officials, Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs), and teachers. The role involves on-ground program implementation support, capacity building, monitoring, and stakeholder engagement to ensure effective delivery of program objectives.
The candidate should have extensive experience in working with government partners and school leadership. They will lead organizing teacher and volunteer trainings and oversee high-impact program delivery to improve Foundational numeracy. Furthermore, they are responsible for managing the field team. The candidate will also be able to work beyond the job description - enjoy problem-solving and applying creative thinking to challenges and building relationships with staff, program leaders, implementers, and government partners.
Key responsibilities
Support District administration, block-level officials and CRPs in planning and executing Ganita Ganaka activities
Actively work with the Block level associate to ensure effective program implementation
Conduct training sessions and refresher workshops for teachers on program content and processes
Address teacher doubts and challenges related to the program
Motivate and engage stakeholders at district, block, cluster, and school levels
Conduct field visits to monitor progress and provide hands-on support
Coordinate reporting and documentation of training sessions, field visits, and program progress
Participate in district, block and cluster review meetings, providing feedback for continuous improvement
Required experience and qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field
Postgraduate qualification in Education or Social Work preferred
Minimum of 5+ years’ experience managing development programs, working with schools and government partners.
Strong project management skills with experience in planning, logistics, and execution of multi-site education programs with strong stakeholder management experience
Excellent communication and reporting skills, including experience with donor reports
Ability to problem-solve, adapt to challenges, and apply creative thinking
Strong training and facilitation skills
Data management and documentation proficiency
Understanding of government education policies and procedures
