Responsibilities

Position Overview

The Mentor Liaison will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and expansion of the mentor program including recruitment, training, and placement of mentors in all programs; communication with mentors and staff members, documentation of mentor activities; assistance with special projects and events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains communication and coordination with appropriate Youth Villages staff in order to
evaluate volunteer needs and performance.
Conducts ongoing assessment of volunteer mentors and mentor program.
Communicates with mentors regularly and implements continuing improvements.
Conducts workshops to provide continuing training for the mentors.
Lead orientation/training for new mentors
Maintains needs list for youth in need of mentors.
Documents mentor program outcomes
Develops plan to recruit new mentors for each program.
Makes presentations to civic groups and professional organizations.
Recruits' volunteers through speaking engagements, contacts with the Volunteer Memphis, and
through requests generated from outreach materials
Interviews, screens and places volunteers interested in the mentoring program.
Complies with standards set by the Memphis Mentoring Partnership

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequently remains in stationary position for periods of time.
Person must be able to drive throughout coverage region.
Regularly needs to move throughout office to access file cabinets and office machinery.
Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as calculator, copy machines,
and printer.
Frequently moves, ascend/descend, and traverse.
Constantly must be able to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, and exchange
information with clients Frequently needs to be able to recognize, judge, and observe clients
behavior and safety of surrounding.

Qualifications

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree is required

A minimum of 3 months experience recruiting and managing volunteers is required
Experience in CRM software "Salesforce" is preferred
Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Basic computer knowledge
