We're Hiring: Solutions Consultant (North Africa or South Africa), travel required

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Solutions Consultant to work closely with our customers, guiding them through the development and launch of their energy services businesses. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor, providing consultative services to prospective clients, building tailored business plans, and educating them on best practices for running last-mile energy services.

This role will partner closely with a Sales Representative to help qualify, close, and expand new sales opportunities and accounts, ensuring a seamless and strategic approach to customer success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a consultative sales approach to help customers build and scale their energy businesses.
  • Engage with senior executives (C-suite, Executive Vice Presidents, Managing Directors) to identify and address their strategic and operational needs.
  • Conduct in-depth discovery processes to assess customer pain points and recommend tailored technology solutions leveraging Zola Electric’s product suite.
  • Build business plans and financial models for customers looking to deploy distributed energy solutions.
  • Drive new product introductions in a fast-paced, disruptive hardware and enterprise software environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and finance, to ensure seamless customer engagement and implementation.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to refine the value-based sales strategy and execution, ensuring alignment with customer needs.
  • Leverage training and expertise in value-based and/or solutions selling for complex, multi-threaded sales campaigns to drive customer success and revenue growth.
  • Travel extensively across Africa and the Middle East to develop relationships and drive business growth.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Atleast 5 years direct B2B sales experience required
  • Formal training in value-based sales and/or solutions selling within a B2B environment, with a strong emphasis on enterprise technology solutions (hardware + software) solving business process challenges required.
  • Experience working closely with Sales Representatives to qualify, close, and expand new business opportunities.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or MBA preferred.
  • Expertise in Energy Network Management Solutions, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Solar, Consumer Financing, PAYGO models, or similar sectors.
  • Experience engaging with senior executives and decision-makers at large enterprises.
  • Background in business consulting, corporate restructuring, or new market entry, ideally in Africa or other emerging markets.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify business challenges and craft innovative solutions.
  • Experience launching new products in a startup environment with a missionary sales approach, requiring adaptability and a hands-on approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a distributed, global team environment.
  • Proven ability to work remotely, manage travel and expense budgets, and collaborate effectively within distributed, global teams.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Africa and the Middle East to build partnerships and drive customer success.
