About the Role

We are seeking a senior field operations and an exceptional project manager to drive Field Operations strategy and execution in Central Uganda. You will be responsible for the following: leading the adoption of trees in the region, market access activities as applicable for cash crops (primarily coffee, macadamia, and trees), input sales, and extension teams to deliver strong farmer impact and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Vision / Strategy

  • Lead the field implementation of the Uganda Vision and Strategy and drive up farmer impact in the region served
  • Identify and implement the resources, processes, and systems required to achieve the vision and strategy in the region served
  • Work with the Head of Field Programs and collaborate with Leads of the different departments' programmes (Product Innovations, Commercialisation, Support Teams) and Regions to build alignment, setting objectives and plans that deliver the required programme outcomes.

Team Management

  • Line Manager for the members of the field operation team in the Region
  • Initiate and lead process improvements within the region
  • Represent FOPs within the country programme in relevant stakeholder forums as required.
  • Manage the workload of the FOPs Regional team, set priorities and drive execution of all the region-related projects/programme elements.

Field Execution

  • Drive delivery of high-quality, impactful extension services through multiple channels in the region
  • Closely collaborate with the Commercial team to achieve market access/input sales targets through strong field team execution, and provide operational expertise and field insights to drive strategic improvements.

Expansion

  • Lead research and surveys to scout for suitable programme expansion sites and roll out the OAF programme in new parishes/ districts in the region.
  • Manage all FOPs Region HQ staff (FOPs Implementation Coordinator, Operations, and Administration Supervisor)
  • Oversee management of the Regional Field Team.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in development studies/community development/agriculture/social work, and related fields.
  • 4+ years of experience in project management, leadership and people management.
  • Good experience in project management (execution)
  • Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions, including performance tracking, course correcting, and strategy setting.
  • Ability to drive commercial results (sales).
